Title: 72 pins of frustration
Post by: Emcee Shyguy on June 01, 2003, 09:51:21 AM
What it is?  Listen, nephs, I just changed my haggard, old 72 pin connector in my NES.  But now I can't get my carts to run unless I'm physically pushing them down and holding them.  I've made adjustments to the cart housing with the springs but can't seem to find the problem.  You heads ever run into any ish like that?  Any help would be decent.  Thanks

Hmm. I don't have any experience with replacing the contacts, myself. All I know is that if you use a connector from a Game Genie, you don't have to push it down at all. So... I guess there's some connection that's not being connected.

Okay? So I'm not the most up on NES tech specs...

You should call the Nintendo customer service hotline 1-800-255-2700.

What is wrong with this guy?
...Besides everything!

No, FIRST go to classicgaming.com and read the great NES repair article. From your description, that may be the problem.

But I don't really know, so THEN call the hotline :)
