Title: The Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow Project
Post by: TEM on September 03, 2005, 10:25:42 PM
Goal: Procure a Pokémon cartridge with all 150 Pokémon, each one being from a different person, by trading a lot.

How to Achieve the Goal: Have 149 people mail me their game cartridges, make the trade, and mail the cart back.

Is it Possible?: That is for YOU to decide!

Pros: You will be part of one of the greatest things ever. I will make a Master List of Contributers; your information(as much as you give me permission to put up) and the Pokémon you donated will be listed. You will be immortalized in this way.

Cons: I may be a crazy man trying to steal your videogames.

However, you will find that I am entirely trustworthy. Lizard Dude, Luigison, Chuppeson Weird, and MegaByte will vouch for me in respect to my excellent mailing etiquette.

If you wish to contribute please email me with this thread's title in the subject and which Pokémon you wish to trade me(also which one you wish to receive, I'm making absolutely no guarantee you will get it, though). I will then tell you if this Pokémon is available and give you my mailing address if it indeed is.

If possible send me the 2nd evolution of 3 stage evolution Pokémon. I predict these will be especially hard to find.

Any possible help will be greatly appreciated(tell your friends)!

I tried mailing you my Pokémon Blue once, but no one would ever take me to the post office.

And, I did once have all 150 Pokémon on that cart, though a friend talked me into starting over and erasing the save. (This was the same guy I mentioned in that thread where friends turn their backs on you.)

By different person do you mean different OTs or actual different person?

While I don't doubt that you are going to exploit our addresses and send serial murderers to our houses, I'd trade you a Nidoqueen for any old pokemon.

I need all this stuff in email form, please only post in here if you have questions.

EDIT: "By different person do you mean different OTs or actual different person?"

An actual different person, of course; it would be mightily easy of me to just have 150 different OTs. I will obtain photographic evidence of each one being from different people to convert non-believers.

I better understand the project now that I read the site and know that each pokemon must be from a different trainer.

But can one trainer have multiple Pokemon?

Each trainer can only donate one Pokémon.

Montana is MT, not MO. That's Missouri.

I can't contribute because I don't have the game, so I'll allow my 2¢ this time around to be that I find it interesting that Pokémon is, as far as I know, the only Japanese word with an accent mark.

I always thought they added that so Americans would pronounce it correctly. Or is Pokémon always written out in Roman characters in Japanese?

I think you're right, actually. It just strikes me as funny, especially since there are no other words I can think of that employ this strategy. Though perhaps a game title pronounced "Poke Mon" would be even funnier.

I think that in Japan Pokémon is written as "ポケモン" most of the time, but also sometimes as "Pocket Monsters" when Roman characters are used. But, then again, I think the Pokémon plane I saw had the familiar "Pokémon" logo on the side of it.

. . . Or did it? Bah, I can't remember . . .
