Title: Nintendogs
Post by: Khold on October 06, 2005, 06:55:40 PM
Whos here has Nintendogs? Oh and give it a rating if you have it.

Learning black slang:
1. I admire those fancy shoes you are wearing.
TRANSLATION: Drop them Nikes' or yo feet before I blast 'em!
2. Hello good sir. May i borrow some money?
TRANSLATION: Yo dog can you drop me off a few Washington bling bling?
3. Oh you don't have it? Thats okay. I'll look elsewhere.
TRANSLATION:*BEEP* you!!

I don't have but it sounds bad, it's not that I don't like it, but my sister would break the whole screen in ten seconds flat. I'd get it if it wasn't for that.

I've been meaning to make a Nintendogs topic for some time now, but I never got around.

I have Dacshound & Friends version and it's a pretty fun game. At the very least it's much better than those crappy toy dogs that seem too good to be true. You really do get a feel for the dogs in the game despite not actually existing. The walks can get annoying when you're doing them to find rare items such as the Fireman's Hat (required to get Dalmations) or the Mario Kart. The contests are pretty cool even with the annoying commentary and the fact that it's easier than a real Dog contest in which any average dog owner would probably be forbidden to enter. Overall, it's a fun experience but don't jump into this game with expecting most normal video game standards. Think of it as Animal Crossing with dogs. I'd give it a 9.0 out of 10.

Did I mention it keeps you siblings quiet and it's a total chick magnet?<img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>

I would also give it a 9/10 cause its very addicting. By the way how many trainer points you got? I have 20,988, and I STILL can't find the Fire man's hat or Jack Russel Terrier Book- even though I have 13 Mario Karts, 4 Meteorites, and 3 RC Helicopters. :D

For some reason I have the suspicion that Khold is either Glorb or Nintendolke64.  Only because of the names.

I don't have Nintednogs, as I don't have a Nintendo DS.

I just found the Jack Russell Terrier book yesterday, but the Fireman's Hat is a pain in the unmentionables to find.

Uh, who was Glorb and Nintendolke64 anyways? They got banned or something? The only reason I came to TMK forums was because GameFaqs forums banned me for no reason. : (

I don't think Glorb was banned, maybe Nintendolke64, but I doubt Glorb was, but that can't really be the only reason you came here ...... oh well, you'll be here because you like these forums sooner or later.

I wasn't suggesting that someone was banned.  The names are just kind of similar.  Go Khold!

Nintendolke isn't banned, he just hasn't been active in a long time.

Actually, Sadib is the only member I know for sure that has been banned.

From what I've heard, someone called marioguy was banned, too.
But I'm going to stop posting here because... I don't even have the game! XD

Marioguy and Sadib were the same person.

The problem I have with Nintendogs is that I don't have enough time to play. In game help, what if they come out with a Mario game that involves the time and I get screwed up if I don't play?

I just got Nintendogs today. I taught my little Pembroke Welsh Corgi his name, Einie, and how to sit and shake. He is so cute! I went for a walk and found a bubble blower. I already had one so I sold it for cash at a secondhand store.

Nintendogs is a great game for me to take a break from World of Warcraft and other things.

I've had it since it came out, but have been playing Lost in Blue lately.

In N'dogs I got the Mario cap, but haven't got the kart or other Mario stuff yet.

Nothign of big consequence will happen if you stop playing Nintendogs for some time.

Sit and shake are good, but I like to teach my puppy, Freyja, more useful commands, like "cower", "waggle", and "Metroid".
I mean, it's nice to be able to sit and all that, to to be able to waggle her rear in someone's face?  Now THAT's a skill that she can use all her life.

So there's different Karts in different versions huh? I wonder whether Best Friends will have them all or add a new one.

I slept over at my cousin's house and one of my other cousins messed up my time frame but for some reason all the activities I do give me 2x Trainer Points.

But that would still mean that you got more than 300,000 TP wouldn't it?

Yeah. I guess. When I'm not playing it, my cousins take care of them.

You know the blue dots on the map that represent where your dog has left his mark? Do those have any use besides information? Like, do dogs like to retrace their path or something?

They blink when you encounter another dog and they're nearby.  I'm guessing this affects how the dogs will think of one another.  Like, maybe a dog who is normally a jerk (like Coby) will be more friendly if there's a couple of pee-spots nearby.

...anyway, it's just a theory.

I've got Nintendogs (as a B-Day gift) and it's so cool. I've got three dogs and they are Gene (Yorkie), Bowser (German Shepard and Birdo (Caliver K. C. Spainel). I adore my Yorkie the most (he looks so cute with a Luigi hat on).

My Shiba Inu is stupid. I have to teach her name(Frisky) to her over and over again and she always forgets. I can't teach her to sit because of it, so I can't get food or water for her.

You don't need to call her by name. Just use the whistle command to call her over and then pet her until she can learn the trick. I rarely call my dogs by name and they can still recognize when they're being called.

Which reminds me, has anyone had any luck finding a Fireman's Hat and getting a Dalmation?

I did, you have to have at least 10,000 trainer points and you'll find it on a walk. But it is RARE. The more TPs you have, the higher chances you have.

If I had known that sooner, I wouldn't have wasted all that time walking my dogs to death just to find the hat.

And is it true that if you walk along the edges and corners that you get more of a chance to find a rare item?
