I've never understood what it is that defines a person as "HAWT" as opposed to "nice looking" or "attractive," etc.; when someone says a person is the former, it always makes me go "..." (regardless of the commenting person’s or target's gender).
Anyway, after "observing" you guys for the past two and a half years, with comments to or about me (joking, serious, whatever), and observing other "real life" people, I'm curious as to what you guys really think of how I look. With the poll option, now it can be completely anonymous. Please be honest.
I hope this doesn't make me seem vain or anything; I'm really not. I'm just....intrigued and curious about it. Any girls can answer this too, if they want. *Shrugs*
I like to think of this as a psychological study/obsevation. I'm obsessed with psychology... >_>;
(Note: I don't think I'm hot, and I'll never understand people that think I am, if they even do. X_x)

Hot, attractive, beautiful, lovely, they all mean different things to different people. I know you're aware of this. It's just, it seems rather... unnecessary to even attempt to acquire a generalized meaning for the terms. Not that the poll will even do that for you, really.
As for me, personally, I guess I see the term "hot" for a woman who is attractive purely in a physical sense. Where as attractive, nice looking, ect, for a woman who's other qualities attractive, as well. Not that I'd rank being "hot" as better than being attractive. I'm not sure if you're looking for actual input on this, or not, but I suppose it doesn't hurt.
It's natural to wonder what other people think about you, certainly. Just, don't take it too seriously. Especially when people can vote anonymously. :)

SSM: Black Mage put it nicely; it's just curiousity, to know what people really think of me. Fun, too, I think. I won't take take any of it personally, no matter what the votes are. And it's not like I'll know who specifically voted what unless they actually post something. Regardless, I won't judge. We all have our opinions.

"Hot" is really a measure of only physical attraction. Someone can be hot, and also a complete jerk. It's kind of hard to define what makes physical attraction, since everyone's preferenees are diffrerent, but if someone says you're hot, take it as a complement. Don't just stare at them like they're weird.
I've seen a load of these threads on message boards(but least of all would I except one from YOU), and they're always skewed toward being "hotter" than they really are because the votes are coming from friends. If you want a COMPLETELY, BRUTALLY HONEST opinion about how hot the average person thinks you are, put up your picture at HotOrNot.com (http://www.hotornot.com/). But I'm not sure if that's what you're really looking for here.
Also, you might want to at least put up your picture HERE so that the many people who haven't seen you can actually vote here.

I would have to say the same as Cash, I have a really neat Time Life book on "The Mind" its really interesting, you should read it, although I'm sure they dont make it anymore, its from like 1969, by a bunch of docs who experimented drugs for the sake of Science.....pffft, yeah right.

If I correctly remember the picture of you I saw a months (years?) ago, you appeared to take care of your appearance very well. Which may be more important in my mind, appearance-wise, than being naturally "hot".
That said, you should be more worried about your personality than your appearance. My opinion, though.

Oh, no, no, no, I'm TOTALLY not worried or even concerned about my appearance or what people think of it. Pure curiousity, 'tis all. I'd much rather have an "amazing" personality than be "amazing looking" or something. Not that I have/am either.
Frankly, appearances are quite shallow, and it amazes me how much it seems to matter to people--either to themselves, or how they view others. You say that, but I know it does matter a lot, subconsciously or not. Tell me this: would you date a 500-pound fatso with bad acne and a 3-inch package? Even if he had a personality that was completely compatible with you? Physical attraction is what starts a bond for a relationship in the first place, and if you don't have that, you're pretty much screwed unless one or both of you settles, in which case it's not a good relationship anyway.
Sucks sometimes, but it's the facts of life.

OK, now to be serious. In my opinion.... I hold no opinion. I don't think you're ugly or prettiful. I don't really care. You're asking the wrong internet friend. Appearances don't really matter much to me. But of course nobody wants somebody to say they are ugly.
As Insane Steve suggested, you should worry about personality not appearances.

I’m very impressed at your bravery to ask such a frank question, Sapphira. Now I’m going to be brave too and tell you what I actually think! (cue dramatic music) I have 3 pictures of you saved on my computer so I do know what you look like, or at least what you used to look like, and then half of your face in your super girl picture. If you’re worried about why I have 3 pictures of you, don’t sweat it. I also have at least 7 funny pictures of LD, 1 of Watoad with a DS, 1 of LD and Watoad together giving peace signs, 1 of Insane Steve looking a little insane, and 1 of Luigison playing GC (I think it’s Luigison, if that’s him with the picture of the cat up close). Maybe I need to delete some of these some time.
Anyway, I wouldn’t exactly say you look hot but I would say that you look very cute (hopefully that word doesn’t offend you) and your charicature doesn’t do you justice. The only reason I don’t think you look hot is because of my own preferences for looks (whatever they are, not really sure) and not because of anything you can help. I’m sure there are guys who will see you as hot, but I just don’t right now. However, I do like your outgoing personality, or at least how you act on the forums… : ) - XP - @_@ - x_X - ~_^- XD… and all that. So if I spent some time with you in real life then maybe I would think that you’re hot. Plus, your face looks kind of like a good friend of mine so bonus points for that XD.
Just remember, Sapph, that you probably look better than what you think you do, and if you don’t then it’s no problem. Your true self is what matters most and only real friends will like you for that. I know, this is obvious stuff, but I just want you to keep that in mind and think positive about yourself (and that includes everyone else too, not just girls!) So… yeah. I hope that I don’t get slapped with a fish by anything that I said!

Ha ha, you're welcome (I sure have been getting a lot of nice compliments lately ^_^). I don't always try to make long posts but somehow they usually become very long. And if you're looking for pictures of LD... *falls of laughing* you can find plenty of them at his website. Just click on Lizard Dude's name, then his website, and get ready to find lots of crazy pictures. My favorite one is where he's looking bored and two guys are "fighting" behind him.

Well, I don't know what you look like, but I do know when a person has an attractive personality and yours is that. Whenever I say someone is "HAWT", it's almost always on an impersonal level. When I say someone is beatiful/angelic (heheh) it's on a very personal level and it's not to be taken lightly.
And over the couple of years that I've been here, I've read your stories, your opinions and stuff like that; you've (i'm trying to say this without it sounding like i'm hitting on you) got a beautiful personality. I would probably find you attractive if I knew you more regardless of how you look.

Thanks for any insight about stuff and any compliments, though, guys. I still scratch my head over how some people still don't know what I look like, especially after someone linked to a thread that had it in it.
I personally see "hotness" as a shallow, impersonal term, and to be called that as a left-handed compliment. But maybe that's just me. If someone did call me that, I would say they obviously don't know me at all, because I'm not some object and don't want to be looked at as one. Meh.

Um, I am a girl too, but just because I'm a "model", doesn't mean anything I think... But to a guy, I think they might think of you as cute or attractive, you also type alot like me :D Your also a VERY good writer, incase nobody has told you that exept Ludwig. But if I were a guy, I guess cute or attractive. Are you going to show us a picture? (Just curious) And I think the best person is one who doesn't care what other people think of her/him. Sure you can put on on some nice clothes and make-up, but that doesn't mean you DO care what they think of you. Over all you seem like a really good person. If you were dating a guy over the internet and never saw your apperance, they would certainly think your pretty. Thats the good thing about internet dating- you only like them for their personality until they show you a REAL picture. Ugh, but now I am starting to ramble. I hoped this helped!

I suggest you read this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Left-handed#Social_stigma_and_repression_of_left-handedness). Historically, it's been treated like racism to the point that language is affected because of it. Using such terms only perpetuates those awful ideas.

Incidentally, after seeing the pic of herself that Sapphira linked to after the dog picture (sorry if you didn't want me to call attention to it), I can certainly reaffirm that she is indeed very attractive (I won't say "hot" because I agree with the people who said that such terms tend to portray people as "objects").

Political correctness is an extreme. Being neither racist nor pro-Affirmative Action (i.e., being normal) is not politically correct. You yourself seem to be acting PC by criticizing my criticism of political correctness. :/

I'm sure we all want to find out what people think of us (Not saying that I would ask if I were hot because that's just not me.), but knowing what people think of you is good, people should never hide things about what they think of someone, else, most of the time (At least in person) the ones being held secrets about themselves from, can tell when the other person trys to hide it, and that makes most angry, and they will probably show how angry they are by yelling, or they can even not talk at all, but it's good to know so you can change, and be a friend of theirs, you can feel a lot better. Wow, say hello to my longest post ever ..........

I actually think drugs are bad. It's just that that line in my sig sounds funny, and I can appreciate humor concerning drugs and such things. Probably the main reason LZR made me mad by saying that was simply the provocative tone of the remark.

Hmm. This topic has gotten EXTREMELY off topic. Strange how it does that.
On the subject of making a post to see what people think as a psychological test is a cool idea. You can understand better how people think and how they look at people of the same and opposite sex. However, I do not see when political correctness, being high, or being offended come into this. Specially when you are not the one being judged, Sapph thus far has only been irritated by people it seems to me, and not offended even though someone said they've seen better.
Now that I've seen her pic, I really like the way you look sapph and stick to you being beautiful.

Especialy you, Markio, if you don't have something to say thats nice, don't say it at all. And TEM, if you think your funny by provoking her, you're not. And yes, in "vain" means that you are using the lords name in a subject that has nothing to do with it, it doesn't matter if you didn't make a comment like "Oh my god!" If it insults her, don't keep doing it!
