Thanks for the reply, Koopakrusher, that's exactly the kind of response I was looking for.
It's interesting hearing you comment about Mario Party Advance because I also found it to be very different from all the other Mario Party games, but that didn't make it any less fun for me.

All in all I have to agree with you on Mario Party 1 though. Out of all of them it's my all-time favorite. As true as the "Blister-inducing-rapid-control-stick-rotating" mini games comment is, I think to go as far as suing Nintendo is just childish. If the game hurts your hand then don't play it. Those were some of my favorite mini-games. I hate how people will look for any opening to sue a company just to make money, talk about pure greed...

There's definitely an aspect to Super Mario Kart that I don't think exists in any of the other Mario Karts.
I like them all, but I can definitely see why you like Super Mario Kart so much. Something about the Mode7 graphics just gives it a unique feel.
I think it'd be pretty awesome if they re-released it as one of the 3D Classics on the 3DS.
It'd definitely be a great candidate for it, especially considering that the original game is split screen just like the 3DS. (And the 3D would look pretty awesome.)

Yeah, I have to admit I was inspired by the Mario Kart poll you did and thought it would be cool to do one for Mario Party.

I agree with you on the DS one, they did a really good job on it.

My favorite Mario Party to date is still the original, but they're all pretty good.

I just downloaded it myself. It's awesome.

A nice feature they added was the download play option, it's nice to see that on a virtual console game.

Has anyone here ever played 100 World Story?

The Japanese title is Hyaku no Sekai no Monogatari and it was never brought over to the US, but it's been fan translated.
It's basically a turn-based RPG Board Game for the NES.
I've been playing it for years now and it's a great multiplayer game (up to 4 players).

There's a pretty good fan site out there for it:

Note: The original translation had some letters mixed up (a, b, c, and s) and was later fixed. It made the game pretty humorous.

If anyone's played it, I'd love to hear your comments about the game.

Game Help / Re: wii virtual console laggy controller
« on: May 23, 2014, 12:58:06 PM »
I know I'm a little late on this topic, but if I had to guess anything, it's probably more likely the input-lag on your TV (Assuming it's a flat screen).

Most LCD TVs have a considerable amount of 'input-lag' meaning that the time between the TV receiving input from your console and the actual time it outputs is noticeable. People who watch TV or movies wouldn't notice this, but gamers notice right away because they're impacting the input on the TV by actually controlling the game, so that time difference is critical. This was never an issue with the old CRT TVs because they never had any input lag.

If you're interested, read about it on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Display_lag

The only reason you may be noticing this on the virtual console compared to other Wii games is because most games nowadays are designed with the input-lag in mind and aren't as time-critical as older games are. I notice it most on the original Super Mario Bros for NES.

If you still think it's the classic controller, have you tried using a GameCube controller? (Assuming you have the original model Wii with GameCube compatibility)

I'm a huge fan of all the Mario Karts which makes it tough to say. I really liked Super Mario Kart (SNES), but I almost wouldn't even categorize with the other Mario Karts because it's just so different. Personally, I'd have to say Mario Kart 64 and Mario Kart DS are my favorites. I like Double Dash a lot and I was very impressed with Mario Kart 7.
