It took me until Christmas Day to get you pictures of our tree because it took us until Christmas Eve night to decorate it. XD Merry Christmas!

This is the least decorated tree that we've ever had.

Stylin'! A plaid fleece from my host family in Japan!

Excellent idea. I'll take the test(s) with QWERTY soon. Realistically speaking, that probably won't be until after I return from my trip (which has a three-hour layover in Chicago on the way there), but I'll try to remember.

Yeah, that would certainly be nice, but even Final Cut Express is $300, which I don't have. The professional applications run well into the thousands.

I'm glad you liked it, Sapph! It'll probably be funniest to people who know the actors, but I guess there's some general humor in there amongst the intense low budget-ness, too. :P That particular music selection at the end was my dad's idea, actually.

Yep, you got it! Nice job.

Whoa, Koopaslaya, I'm surprised! I don't know why, actually . . . Uhh, but anyway, you look really cool! Or that picture makes you look cool, maybe. What color hair do you have, exactly? And what color are your eyes? Hmm, now that I think about it, it's rather odd that I find your appearance to be cool when I can't even make it out properly. XP

(This is my first time seeing a picture of you.)

TEM is Mr. Ladies' Man, it seems.

If horrid taste can be considered a form of pain, then you're quite right, Chup. Now, if only physical pain of a greater intensity could be acquired to the point of painlessness like the taste of beer can be . . . that'd be helpful.

Thanks to the even more one and only Deezer!! :)

Aarom11, that was a very weird post. My understanding fails. Do you know the times?

It was still the 23rd to an even greater degree here when you posted that, Steve. (I'm on the West Coast.) In fact, technically speaking I had been 21 years old for only about an hour and a half when you posted that. So nice job and thanks!

Suffix, what you've already done is cool, and I appreciate it! You may do something more elaborate if you wish, but I couldn't even dream a Flash file as fancy as the one you posted, not to mention actually make one. Well, in any case, I hope you feel better.

My first inclination was not to vote because of the difficulty of deciding whom or what to choose for each category. As I read through the categories and rules, though, I began to come up with some ideas. A little later, after some searching, every category was filled. There were still some tough cases, however, so I decided to include runners-up for the close calls and for what or whom I consider to be worth honorable mention.

Poster of the Year
» Watoad's Vote:  Sapphira
One of the forums' greatest posters of all time, she all but disappeared earlier this year. With the board upgrade, however, she made a triumphant return, and she's still posting strong.
» Runner-up:  Lizard Dude
Cool topics, great jokes, and loads of fun posts. A great example to not only to newbies, but to us all!

Topic of the Year
» Watoad's VoteTMK @ E3 by me
It brought about the first TMK gathering, a momentous event that shook the Fungi Forums and maybe even the world.
» Runner-upWallpapers you have used by Vidgmchtr
I love to collect wallpapers, and this trading ground provided me with some great ones that I'm still glad to have.

Post of the Year
» Watoad's VoteRe: Ultimate Birthday Compilation by Chupperson Weird
This was a perfect post for several reasons. Inside joke-type reasons. (That is to say, I shall not be explaining.) Hilarious.
» Runner-upRe: MEGAߥTE gets Carpal Tunnel by Luigison
Side-bustingly funny in classic Luigison style. Also perfect, but just didn't have the inside joke tie-in.

Most Productive Poster
» Watoad's Vote:  Suffix
As Lizard Dude appropriately put it, his birthday works are incredible.

Smartest Poster
» Watoad's Vote:  MEGAߥTE
Although a sordid source of complaint for me, the conversion of the board over to the new system was a work of genius. Aside from that, he shows just a tad bit of knowledge in his posts.

Most Amiable Poster
» Watoad's Vote:  Markio
This guy just makes me smile. Although sometimes not feeling too grand himself, in the end his messages are usually quite cheerful and respectful, anyway.
» Runner-up:  Black Mage
I have voted for him in this category in the past. He always comes to my mind when I come to this category.

Best Signature
» Watoad's Vote:  ^ It is an utterly inescapable miasma of pure, mind-shattering MADNESS from which no mind can awake! (Lizard Dude)
» Runner-up:  "Of all the people I know, it is expected that Watoad will say 'cheese' first." (Markio)
(Consideration: This category probably won't work too well in future poster award topics because of the new signature system that removes all trace of previous sigs. Just a thought.)

Funniest Poster
» Watoad's Vote:  Deezer
If I may, I would go so far as to say that Deezer has a sultry sense of humor. I love it. And I love that he uses it frequently.
» Runner-up:  TEM
No shortage of political and other "jokes" that make me laugh even though we have differing views. All he has to do is simply type the name of the current president! :P

Most Creative Poster
» Watoad's Vote:  Yoshisaurus Rex
In both topics and regular posts, this guy has had lots of new and interesting ideas and fun ways of saying things. Sorry for not posting in your topics more! >_<

Deezer Award
» Watoad's Vote:  JJ
Because he gets no love (never here).
» Runner-up:  Deezer
Because he gets no sunlight (stuffed animals).

It feels good to have a movie-editing project complete. Not only is it fun to watch the polished—or at least finished—film, but the editing can become somewhat tedious and tiresome as time fails to stop passing. For me time has finally ceased to fail, meaning that my latest project is done, and I feel some sense of relief (and accomplishment, I suppose).

This actually wasn't a huge project of any kind, and I've made only one mention of it before—yesterday-ish, actually. Unlike my three previous videos, which were goofy projects of my own filmed with a digital camera, this one is a goofy project of my church's filmed with their super-nice DV camera. Really, it doesn't involve anyone here on any level except that Watoad (me) helped with the planning, acting, and editing. I just happen to be uploading a small version of the movie to the Internet for my coconspirators to see, and it's convenient for me to post a link for potentially interested bystanders here as well.

Please note that the intended audience of this movie is college students attending a Christian worship and social gathering. Add that to the fact that it is intended to be a promotional video, and you might realize that you have no real reason to download and watch it. As always, that's cool if you don't; I just want to warn the potentially harmable bystanders from being offended or bored.

Dang, why do I type so much for something so little? I think I have problems. Here's the oversized file you've already waited too long to decide that you don't want to download:

The oversized file. (91.8 MB)

Oh, wait. There's another thing that I have to say. Hmm, I should have planned this post better or something.

My apologies to the Mac crowd with which I have always affiliated, but I have to step across the line a little tonight. I used iMovie to do the editing, and it disappointed this time around. Perhaps I'm ready for something a bit more advanced because I ran into multiple situations where I just didn't have the level of control that I needed, and it was quite frustrating.

Probably the worst thing was exporting the completed film, which I never managed to understand. It took me forever to get the settings right for the version linked above, which is larger than it should be because everything else I tried looked like garbage. And I've yet to successfully export a full, loss-less version for displaying on my own computer. I guess iMovie just doesn't handle high-quality video very well.

There you have it. Apple disappointed, and I don't care to stand up for them for the sake of standing up for them anymore. I'll wait until I'm appointed again before I stand back up.

200-hot chocolate? Yeah, that would hurt. But it might taste better (see below).

Even though that was more interesting than funny, I "Heheh"ed a little bit when I read your post, Koopaslaya.

Thanks for the lebated birthday wish, Markio!

Whoa, nice job making that look like the birthday wish I gave you despite the new, uncontrollable bbqsystem. Thank you, Sapphira! And yeah, I've found the idea of being 21 scary, too, because of the new availability of "substances." But family and friends have disarmed that fear in me, I guess, so I don't really care that much anymore. Swallowing liquids laced with alcohol still isn't my, er, cup of tea (?), but I know that half an ounce or so of the weak stuff won't kill me.

I say this because today my parents took me to an old and famous Gig Harbor restaurant called Tides Tavern that requires the age of 21. In Canada and Japan I've already had "freedom" to go anywhere, so I wasn't after that; I've just been wanting to see the inside of the Tides and taste their good food for awhile now. So my parents and I went there, and my dad *GASP* (for you guys' benefit) ordered a beer for me. It wasn't frightening, but it was—well, take a look at what my cell phone captured:

And a video, too.

(↑ The video is in the 3g2 format. Let me know if it plays for you.)

I just wrote two larger sized paragraphs in hopes that I wouldn't scare you (mainly Sapph, I guess, but any of you, really). Let me know if it worked.

Anyway, my mom and dad both helped me to drink that thing, but there was more than half of it left by the time we left the place ourselves.

Hey, definitely no problem, Chup! :) In fact, this time around, I didn't even do so much as to wish you a happy birthday in this thread. >_< So you're doing pretty darn well by my standards . . . In any case, thanks for the post! Words matter most!

Unless my birthday ends at 10 in the morning, you aren't late, pt_peach.

Thanks again, Markio! You write well, and you made me laugh. :D

Stuff! Yeah! Thanks, Vid. ;P

Festivus? What's that? Up to now the only days on which I was born have been Japan's emperor's birthday, Christmas Eve Eve, and other people's birthdays.  Anyway, thanks also to you, Mr. Ladies' Man!

I'm getting this feeling that stuffed animals have taken over Deezer's house and are holding him for ransom. His only connection with the outside world is through the Internet, and the animals must be monitoring and controlling what he tells us. Should we execute some kind of operation to save him?

The odd thing about tapes is that they can be used to store digital information. I have run into two examples of this so far:

1. Myself and others recently filmed (not quite a digital-sounding term, I know, but I believe it is still used regardless) a little promotional video with a sweet Sony digital, high-definition camera. The recorded information, though digital, was stored on a tape until we ran it through a FireWire cable and into my computer. (Once I complete editing, I may upload and post a link to the video in the LizCam thread.)

2. My older brother works with the world's most powerful supercomputer at a government laboratory in Livermore, CA. That system has I don't know how many terabytes of storage capacity, most or all of which is comprised of tapes that robot arms move back and forth between the supercomputer and places where the tapes are kept when not in use.

You all used to spit on the Seahawks, but now they're showing they rest of the country what it means to lose. They have an excellent chance of making the Superbowl, and I wouldn't be surprised if they win. Go Seattle!

Okay. That's about as excited as I can get about football. Many of the guys in my house are really, really into it, and some of them will probably go to the Superbowl if the Hawks make it. Football is always on at my house in Seattle, but I watch only if I happen to be walking by. I still don't understand most of the stuff they say as they watch and shout at the TVs.

If you (any of you) switch to the Dvorak keyboard layout, as I've been thinking of doing, then your typing speeds will probably increase noticeably. Once I crack the problem of changing Japanese entry into the Dvorak layout along with English, then I'll very likely be making the potentially questionable switch.

Also, one of my friends thinks that his sister's husband's grandfather is the guy who developed the alternate layout. No joke.

In a big way, I don't really care.

If I were less oblique, then no one would like my answer, so ↖ will work. I'm the first one to say it, anyway.
