That makes two strikes (canceling Mario Mix and not answering an e-mail from MEGAߥTE). I wonder what their suicide stroke will be?

Ask the average person to name a dead language, and he or she is likely to mention Latin. In fact, Latin did not really die at all. Rather, it evolved over a period of centuries into French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Rumanian, and the other modern-day Romance languages.
Contrast this with the situation of Manx, a Celtic language indigenous to the Isle of Man, a small island midway between Ireland and Great Britain. Its last speaker, Ned Madrell, died in 1974. Just one hundred years earlier, 12,000 people had spoken Manx. Now no one does. Manx didn't just change over time; it simply ceased to be spoken.
