I have it and the equipment, but I don't think the people living downstairs would appreciate it.

Oh, so you play it on a real dance pad? Wow.

All it requires is a PS2 to computer adaptor. Same with Frets on fire, the Guitar Hero PC clone. Oh, and with the Xbox 360 having USB based controllers, I imagine an Xbox 360 dance pad would would with Step mania. I, however, don't have step mania.

Yes, I have it. Don't play it often, though.

I play StepMania (there is no space in there) all the time. However, since I don't have said adapter, and since something's up with SM on this computer that stops me from using the keyboard, I have to use a gamepad, which is extremely annoying (especially since I had gotten used to using a mat for DDRMAX2 or the keyboard)...

I've never played StepMania, but I have played several DDR games.  I'll be playing StepMania when I complete my laser dance matrix:  http://www.applied-sciences.net/laserpad.html

I don't. I've never been good at rhythm games...

Not having played StepMania, I can only assume that DDR is still better.
That was a joke.

It's an open-source DDR clone.  Which means theoretically you could just load the DDR songs and patterns.  Which means StepMania is better by default.

More of a DDR sim, really. But StepMania is better, if only because I can play songs from DDR Extreme without that stupid scoring system.

Not necessarily, but I see what you're saying.

I'm surprised that Insane Steve hasn't said anything in this thread.

Wrong. Especially looking at DDR's latest releases... also you can theoretically play whatever songs you want on Stepmania if you find or make charts to them.

I play Stepmania, both on pad and on keyboard. I'm also a simfile designer.
