Has anyone ever played Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold?
It's an FPS from 1993 and is strangely addictive despite the bad graphics.

If it has Duke Nukem in it why is it called Blake Stone?

This thread is full of fail.

I've never played it.

TEM, I applaude your use of Firefox, but why do you have a blank toolbar, not use Adblock Plus w/ Filterset.G, and use that awful (IMO) theme?

This reminds me of my desire to make a TMK themed.

It's because he likes to support TMK, Kontek, and all the other sites he visits.
Remember that your first Goomba boldly you walk? When Mario touched that mushroom being brought up more largely remember that you are surprised? Miscalculate your jump that pit remember that it falls?

The no-direct-linking image is certainly better than the actual image that was linked to.

That's very ironic, no?  I could've sworn the preview showed the actual image.

That's because you looked at the image, it was saved in your browser cache, then when you looked at the preview, it grabbed the image from the cache again.
But when we look at it, the website that the image is on notices it's not being accessed from the 3D Realms site. So it shows Uncle Duke instead.
It's a problem most of us have faced at one point or another. So it's generally a good idea to upload images to Photobucket or some other place you know allows remote-linking and then link to that.

I'll make a point to remember that.

Is this better?

It's better, but doesn't change the fact that this became an Uncle Duke thread.

Oh, Blake Stone is like a Wolfenstein 3D type game. Well, sheesh, then it should be some fun, right?

Some info on Blake Stone, plus a link to download the shareware edition.

Played a little of it, it's definitely more advanced than Wolfenstein, kind of funny for the guards to shout "Medic!" after you literally blow a hole through them. I wouldn't be surprised if this was a 3D Realms game, has that Duke feel to it (although I've never played Duke Nukem and thus don't know what a Duke feel would be like).

It has a Wolf3D-with-extra-features feel, if my memory serves me right. If I find a way to reliably get my computer to run DOS games, I'll play through these again.

Or you can just download DOSbox and/or the frontend D-Fend.
