A new fan remix album has been released recently, focusing on the Nintendo/Square game Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (http://themushroomkingdom.net/games/smrpg). I've just started browsing through the tracks, but it appears to feature a variety of remix "styles" (retro 8-bit chip music, syth, electro, orchestra, and more) and should appeal to those SMRPG lovers out there. I may need to refresh my knowledge of SMRPG fan remixes, though, as I believe that not all the music in this album is "new" -- I recognize at least one older track by The OneUps (http://www.oneupstudios.com/). Go download it yourself before the folks at GameMusic4All.com (http://www.gamemusic4all.com) run out of bandwidth.

Nice to see you back in the Game Blog, David! And I see you've found something relevant to your interests.
-
Oh, good, there's a thread about it! Now if anyone downloads this successfully, let me know.
-
I downloaded the B-sides but nothing else yet. There were ... maybe 3 or 4 bearable tracks in that mess?
-
I picked up the whole thing and let it roll, but... uh, not for very long.
-
Finally, someone is updating Game Blog.

Lyrics + Mario Music = Okay... I guess...
Rap Music + Mario Music = DO NOT WANT
When I started listening to some of the tracks, It started out with the original classic music that I knew and loved. Then after about 10 seconds, it was ripped apart.
Conclusion: There are some profanity in some of them, some of them are good, some (if not most) of them are bad.
-
Most of it was bad, but I liked the Forest Maze song.
-
I'd rather listen to Rawest Forest.
-
Isn't one of the tracks about 4 seconds long?

I'd rather listen to Rawest Forest.
I wanted to download that, but the website for it's all screwed-up.

Yes, the track 24_A New Partner is.
-
Now now, I never said it was necessarily good... I merely said that SMRPG fans might enjoy it.
-
But, considering this is a Mario website, that elevates it to the level of "necessarily good".
-
Well, I just downloaded it a few days ago and... well, it's interesting, to say the least. There's some great techno/8-bitty remixes, plus plenty of copious sound-effects, and I can understand the raps (they wanted to include plenty of different genres--and some people who play videogames do like rap)...
...But whoever made song #9 on Disc Two is an absolute idiot. That was the most foul-mouthed, bizarre thing I've ever heard on something purportedly related to Mario.
-
What about #1 on disc 3?
-
Well, that too.
