Mario Chat / Mario's Picross Hidden Sound Test
« on: April 03, 2012, 08:31:22 PM »
Recently I stumbled upon what is a fairly incomplete sound test that resides within the Mario no Super Picross ROM (and also Tamori Picross), but not the NP Volumes, nor either Game Boy Mario's Picross games.

http://tcrf.net/Mario_no_Super_Picross

I think the developers gave-up partway through as none of the looped versions have been programmed. Still interested in the other functions of the Tamori no Picross sound test because it seems like they were heading towards possible Soundlink test or some sorts, but they actually crash the APU.

Video Game Chat / Interview with Soyo Oka
« on: April 10, 2011, 08:40:06 PM »
Found this interesting. The composer for many Nintendo from 1987 to 1995 shares some in depth information regarding past experiences with Nintendo as well as her musical influences and such with Dave (blitzlunar);

"Continuing our interview series with veteran composers of GE-ON-DAN, Soyo Oka gives her most extensive interview to date. She initially discusses her journey from child pianist to Nintendo composer, before recollecting how she integrated 'Soyoisms' on to titles such as Yuyuki and Super Mario Kart for the company. Finally, the artist discusses her various freelance works and recent return to game music, with several arranged albums and a newly released DS title."

An early build of the Japanese version (Famicom Disk System version, specifically) has just been released by the lost Levels spotting several differences from the final build including Musical differences, sprite differences, and dungeon layouts are also different. The Second Quest is incomplete. Yay!

The NSF was ripped...

Video Game Chat / SNESmusic.org forums!
« on: October 07, 2010, 06:27:23 PM »
SNESmusic.org forums is now open to the public in it's somewhat post-beta (preliminary) stage, needing just a few tweeks and such to make it flawless. *Kirby's Daces!*

Well, enjoy! ;D

Can be seen here in the comment section.
http://snesmusic.org/v2/wiki.php?iRequest=wiki/ViewPage&iPage=Comments - The SNESmusic.org comment section which will probably disappear shortly in light of the forum making it redundant.

Nice to know, but it sucks only because there are no differences between the prototype and released version. I did check bit for bit.

The Golfer is Mario in golf clothes.

Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber (N64)
The names Mario and Kong appear in this game.

Paper Mario (N64) - Luigi's Mansion Cameo
There's a Luigi's Mansion reference in Luigi's Journal, Luigi's Mansion was in it's planning stages at the time.

The "Big Cookie" made by Tayce T. with the two ingredients of:
Cake Mix + Yellow Berry

Mario Chat / Another Super Mario Land 2 glitch
« on: February 05, 2010, 07:46:55 PM »
This doesn't work on my million Seller version of the cart.

Pipe Glitch:
Just as you are entering a pipe, pause the game and exit the level now return to any level and you should start the selected level in "pipe position" and will go through the floor and end up under the level in a glitched screen where you can see things you shouldn't see.

General Chat / Lyrics help
« on: January 19, 2010, 05:50:57 PM »
I've searched for the longest time for this song and I cant find it anywhere.

It's a dance-techno song that was popular in 2007 and may have the word "grave" in it's title and goes "o-oooo-o-ah-ah-o-oo". That is the best I can describe it sorry. I have been tracking this song for ages and if anyone knows the name and artist, that would be wonderful.
