Yeah, Prospekt's March. I have made a conscious effort to avoid that song, and now I see my paranoia was fairly justified.

Welcome home
While away
They have tampered with the locks
And your things they rearranged

"We propose a better way"
Said the note they left behind
In their wake of disarray
You fell in place

Don't fall asleep
They'll find us here
I know a place to disappear
As a voice proclaimed

What we are is the sum of a thousand lies
What we know is almost nothing at all
But we are what we are till the day we die
Or till we don't have the strength to go on
Till we don't have the strength to go on

Let us cry
Let us be
Let us open up our hearts
Without fear of anything

Faith alone
Is all we need
To traverse this burning bridge
Now before it gets too late
You claim "it's fine"

But the heart reveals
What smiles betray
Your sad sad eyes gave you away
And don't you know

What we are is the sum of a thousand lies
What we know is almost nothing at all
But we are what we are till the day we die
Or till we don't have the strength to go on
Till we don't have the strength to go on

Our shoulders bear an awful weight
But still we trudge on just the same
Our colors run then leave a stain
They blacken our once honest name
But how can we argue, tell me
Over the fury and the fire
How many times can we tell you that we
Are not like you, we see right through
Your poor disguise that fails to fool
The wary eye that's trained on you

What we are is the sum of a thousand lies
What we know is almost nothing at all
But we are what we are till the day we die
Or till we don't have the strength to go on
Till we don't have the strength to go on

What we are is the sum of a thousand lies
What we know is almost nothing at all
But we are what we are till the day we die
Or till we don't have the strength to go on
Till we don't have the strength to go on
Yeah we don't have the strength to go on
Know the most important contribution of the organ Fund science girls type. It's true!

Well, you wonder why I always dress in black,
Why you never see bright colors on my back,
And why does my appearance seem to have a somber tone.
Well, there's a reason for the things that I have on.

I wear the black for the poor and the beaten down,
Livin' in the hopeless, hungry side of town,
I wear it for the prisoner who has long paid for his crime,
But is there because he's a victim of the times.

I wear the black for those who never read,
Or listened to the words that Jesus said,
About the road to happiness through love and charity,
Why, you'd think He's talking straight to you and me.

Well, we're doin' mighty fine, I do suppose,
In our streak of lightnin' cars and fancy clothes,
But just so we're reminded of the ones who are held back,
Up front there ought 'a be a Man In Black.

I wear it for the sick and lonely old,
For the reckless ones whose bad trip left them cold,
I wear the black in mournin' for the lives that could have been,
Each week we lose a hundred fine young men.

And, I wear it for the thousands who have died,
Believen' that the Lord was on their side,
I wear it for another hundred thousand who have died,
Believen' that we all were on their side.

Well, there's things that never will be right I know,
And things need changin' everywhere you go,
But 'til we start to make a move to make a few things right,
You'll never see me wear a suit of white.

Ah, I'd love to wear a rainbow every day,
And tell the world that everything's OK,
But I'll try to carry off a little darkness on my back,
'Till things are brighter, I'm the Man In Black.

Hey, while we're on the subject...

Take a look at my life, all black
Take a look at my clothes, all black
Like Johnny Cash, all black
Like the Rolling Stones, wanna paint it black

Like the night that we met, all black
Like the color of your dress, all black
Like the seats in my Cadillac
I used to see red, now it's just all black

As long as I could remember, I dreamed in black and white
As I grew up and the sun went down, I never felt more alright
My mother, she use to tell me, "Son, you better get to church
"And it's a dark, dark world, and there's evil out there, and you know it's only getting worse"
Yeah, I've never been much for weddings or anniversaries but
I'll go to a funeral if I'm invited any day of the week
Some people say that I sound strange, some say that I'm not right
But I find beauty in this world every single night

Take a look at my life, all black
Take a look at my clothes, all black
Like Johnny Cash, all black
Like the Rolling Stones wanna paint it black

Like the night that we met, all black
Like the color of your dress, all black
Like the seats in my Cadillac,
I used to see red, but now it's just all black

I sat down at her table at the end of the night
She was having black coffee and a cigarette, she wasn't wearing white
She said, "People tell me that I'm strange, they say that I'm not right
She said, "The only time I feel alive is in the dead of night"
I think I found the one for me

Take a look at my life, all black
Take a look at my clothes, all black
Like Johnny Cash, all black
Like the Rolling Stones wanna paint it black

Like the night that we met, all black
Like the color of your dress, all black
Like the seats in my Cadillac,
I used to see red, but now it's just all black

I remember feeling so alive
The night I looked into her eyes

Take a look at my life, all black
Take a look at my clothes, all black
Like Johnny Cash, all black
Like the Rolling Stones wanna paint it black

Like the night that we met, all black
Like the color of your dress, all black
Like the seats in my Cadillac,
I used to see it red, I used to see it red

Take a look at my life, all black
Take a look at my life, all black
Take a look at my life, all black
All black, all black
Take a look at my life, all black
Take a look at my life, all black
Take a look at my life, all black
All black, all black, all black, all black, all black...

Please allow me to introduce myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and faith

And I was 'round when Jesus Christ
Had his moment of doubt and pain
Made [darn] sure that Pilate
Washed his hands and sealed his fate

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game

I stuck around St. Petersburg
When I saw it was a time for a change
Killed the Czar and his ministers
Anastasia screamed in vain

I rode a tank
Held a general's rank
When the Blitzkrieg raged
And the bodies stank

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name, oh yeah
Ah, what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah
(woo woo, woo woo)

I watched with glee
While your kings and queens
Fought for ten decades
For the gods they made
(woo woo, woo woo)

I shouted out,
"Who killed the Kennedys?"
When after all
It was you and me
(who who, who who)

Let me please introduce myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
And I laid traps for troubadours
Who get killed before they reached Bombay
(woo woo, who who)

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
(who who)
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah, get down, baby
(who who, who who)

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
But what's confusing you
Is just the nature of my game
(woo woo, who who)

Just as every cop is a criminal
And all the sinners saints
As heads is tails
Just call me Lucifer
'Cause I'm in need of some restraint
(who who, who who)

So if you meet me
Have some courtesy
Have some sympathy, have some taste
(woo woo)
Use all your well-learned politesse
Or I'll lay your soul to waste, mmm yeah
(woo woo, woo woo)

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, mmm yeah
(who who)
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, mmm mean it, get down
(woo woo, woo woo)

Woo, who
Oh yeah, get on down
Oh yeah
Oh yeah!
(woo woo)

Tell me baby, what's my name
Tell me honey, can ya guess my name
Tell me baby, what's my name
I tell you one time, you're to blame

Oh, who
woo, woo
Woo, who
Woo, woo
Woo, who, who
Woo, who, who
Oh, yeah

What's my name
Tell me, baby, what's my name
Tell me, sweetie, what's my name

Woo, who, who
Woo, who, who
Woo, who, who
Woo, who, who
Woo, who, who
Woo, who, who
Oh, yeah
Woo woo
Woo woo ...

"There must be some way out of here" said the joker to the thief
"There's too much confusion", I can't get no relief
Businessmen, they drink my wine, plowmen dig my earth
None of them along the line know what any of it is worth.

"No reason to get excited", the thief he kindly spoke
"There are many here among us who feel that life is but a joke
But you and I, we've been through that, and this is not our fate
So let us not talk falsely now, the hour is getting late".

All along the watchtower, princes kept the view
While all the women came and went, barefoot servants, too.

Outside in the distance a wildcat did growl
Two riders were approaching, the wind began to howl.

Everyone, everyone will listen
Even if it hurts sometimes
If you will, come and hear the message
Everyone wants to learn to love again
Open up and come alive
If you will, can you hear my message?

Leave your pain on the bedroom floor again
Bring a smile to survive
And do you think that you have that in you?
If you're here and you're all alone tonight
Then I'll give you a free ride
Take a chance, 'cause I know you want to

If only you'll hold on, just hold on
I'm here and I'm with you
I'm here too, I feel you
We'll get through, I know this
I've seen it, a hundred times, a thousand times
Just one more time, with you and I
I'll pull you close, and then we'll say goodbye

Got a lot, oh, hell of a lot to say
Even if it hurts sometimes
And if you will, come and hear the message
Everyone, everyone will hope and pray
That the best will sure survive
And if it's true, then you'll feel the message

A perfect life for a perfect brand-new day
We're the next in line
And do you think that you have that in you?
So, if you're here and you're curious tonight
Then I'll give you a free ride
Take a chance, 'cause I know you want to

If only you'll hold on, just hold on
I'm here and I'm with you
I'm here too, I feel you
We'll get through, I know this
I've seen it, a hundred, a thousand times
Just one more time, with you and I
I'll pull you close, and then we'll say goodbye.

I'm not much of a natural dancer
But I've got a friend who's a natural dancer
You could call her a jumpin' bean
She's got ants in her pants and she's gonna dance
I know a girl who's a jumpin' bean
She's got keys and a token when she hits the scene
Yeah I know a girl who's got a record machine
She acts like David Lee Roth when he turned 21

I know a girl who's a natural dancer
With a cape and a hat she's a natural dancer
She coughs and she laughs and she makes a lot of calls
And all of the people applaud
As she leaves the store
As she leaves the store ([darn] good times)
All of the people applaud ([darn] good times) As she leaves the store
As she leaves the store ([darn] good times)
All of the people applaud ([darn] good times)

Can she do the karaoke? Yes she can, but she won't
'Cause she's highly qualified and she's not a joke
When it comes to opera, she is ossified
So all of you operas better step aside

When my friend got amnesia
She can't remember the show she saw
Like the one with the guy with amnesia
Who got off from the island on a helicopter

I know a girl who's a natural dancer
With a cape and a hat she's a natural dancer
She coughs and she laughs and she makes a lot of calls
And all of the people applaud
As she leaves the store
As she leaves the store ([darn] good times)
All of the people applaud ([darn] good times)
As she leaves the store
As she leaves the store ([darn] good times)
All of the people applaud. ([darn] good times)

There’s a little black, dark scar, tired divide
This is it, can you hear me?
Have you ever felt a sad heart buried alive?
You can do almost anything
There’s a little red bridge with a view of the sun
With a lake, I recommend such a setting site
And the thousands of stars come out thousands of times
And we can go, only if you believe
Only if you believe

Do you feel like you’ve lost everything you can lose?
This is it, can you hear me?
When you cry, do your tears ever chill up the room?
Calling out in a moment of need
Do you ever lay awake with a look in the eye
Asking God if a wish is too big to deny?
I will offer a line, it is ready for use
Let me know, are you ready for me?

I’d like to say that you’re my only fear
And when I dream, it slowly disappears
And when I wake, I’m right here by your side
To feel your heart beat in and out of time

When the storm brings rain, snow, fate of all kinds
You can feel most anything
When the day seems to melt, fall flat into night
You can feel most anything
When you can’t go on, you got to get up and try
This is it, can you feel me?
And when the bombs come down, we will make it alive
But only if you want to believe

I’d like to say that you’re my only fear
And when I dream, it slowly disappears
And when I wake, I’m right here by your side
To feel your heart beat in and out of time

I’d like to say that you’re my only fear
And when I dream, it slowly disappears
And when I wake, I’m right here by your side
To feel your heart beat in and out of time

Out of time, I’m out of time...
When I dream, I’m out of time...
I feel your heart, I’m out of time...

I’d like to say that you’re my only fear
And when I dream, it slowly disappears
And when I wake, I’m right here by your side
To feel your heart beat in and out of time.

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way.
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way.

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain.
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.

So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again.
The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older,
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.

Every year is getting shorter never seem to find the time.
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over,
Thought I'd something more to say.

I was once, I was strolling one very hot, summer's day
When I thought I'd lay myself down to rest
In a big field of tall grass.
I lay there in the sun
And felt it caressing my face
As I fell asleep
And dreamed.
I dreamed I was in a Hollywood movie
And that I was the star of the movie.
This really blew my mind,
The fact that me,
An overfed, long-haired, leaping gnome,
Should be the star of a Hollywood movie.
Hmm, but there I was.
I was taken to a place,
The hall of the mountain king.
I stood high upon a mountain top,
Naked to the world,
In front of every kind of girl.
There was long ones, tall ones, short ones, brown ones,
Black ones, round ones, big ones, crazy ones.
Out of the middle
Came a lady.
She whispered in my ear
Something crazy.
She said,

"Spill the wine, take that pearl.
Spill the wine, take that pearl.
Spill the wine, take that pearl.
Spill the wine, take that pearl."

I could feel hot flames of fire roaring at my back
As she disappeared,
But soon she returned.
In her hand was a bottle of wine,
In the other, a glass.
She poured some of the wine from the bottle into the glass
And raised it to her lips
And, just before she drank it,
She said,

"Take the wine, take that girl.
Spill the wine, take that pearl.
Spill the wine, take that pearl.
Spill the wine, take that pearl."

Take that pearl, yeah.
It's on girl, all you gotta do is spill that wine, spill that wine.
Let me feel, let me feel fine, yeah, yeah.
Spill the wine, spill the wine, spill the wine, spill the wine, spill the wine, spill the wine, spill the wine, take that pearl.

Love is a burning thing
And it makes a fiery ring
Bound by wild desire
I fell into a ring of fire

I fell into a burning ring of fire
I went down, down, down
And the flames went higher
And it burns, burns, burns
The ring of fire
The ring of fire

I fell into a burning ring of fire
I went down, down, down
And the flames went higher
And it burns, burns, burns
The ring of fire
The ring of fire

The taste of love is sweet
When hearts like ours meet
I fell for you like a child
Oh, but the fire went wild

I fell into a burning ring of fire
I went down, down, down
And the flames went higher
And it burns, burns, burns
The ring of fire
The ring of fire

And it burns, burns, burns
The ring of fire
The ring of fire
The ring of fire

Yeah! Oohh!

It was, it was September
Wind blows, the dead leaves fall
To you, I did surrender
Two weeks, you didn't call...

Your life goes on without me
My life, a losing game
But you should, you should not doubt me
You will remember my name

Oh, Ember, you will remember
Ember, one thing remains
Oh, Ember, so warm and tender
You will remember my name

Your heart, your heart abandoned
You're wrong, now bear the shame
Like dead trees in cold December
Nothing but ashes remain...

Oh, Ember, you will remember
Ember, one thing remains
Ember, so warm and tender
You will remember my name

Oh ohh!

Ember, you will remember
Ember, one thing remains
Ember, so warm and tender
You will remember my name
Yeah! You will remember my name
"It'll say life is sacred and so is death
but death is life and so we move on"
