All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places, worn out faces
Bright and early for their daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere
Their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow
No tomorrow, no tomorrow

And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very
Mad World
Mad world

Children waiting for the day they feel good
Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday
And I feel the way that every child should
Sit and listen, sit and listen
Went to school and I was very nervous
No one knew me, no one knew me
Hello teacher tell me what's my lesson
Look right through me, look right through me

And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very
Mad World
Mad World
Enlarging your world
Mad World.

I am now, more than ever, imbued with the confidence that I can write a song about pretty much anything. Is that thing by a "wrock" band and/or some random ironic internet indie?
Assuming that was a response to my post:
why don't you just have a look WARNING NSFW

There's something happening here
What it is ain't exactly clear
There's a man with a gun over there
Telling me I got to beware
I think it's time we stop, children, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
There's battle lines being drawn
Nobody's right if everybody's wrong
Young people speaking their minds
Getting so much resistance from behind
I think it's time we stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
What a field-day for the heat
A thousand people in the street
Singing songs and carrying signs
Mostly say, hooray for our side
It's time we stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Paranoia strikes deep
Into your life it will creep
It starts when you're always afraid
You step out of line, the man come and take you away
We better stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, now, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, children, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down...

I by no means intend to diss anyone's favorite songs, but the two on this page so far just happen to be ones that kind of annoy me.

When the wind is howling through your windowpane
It's not the only pain of the night
You're burning up in your bed, you've got a fever of love
and there's not an antibody in sight

Hey Jenny, Jenny, why are you crying?
There's a beauty of a moon in the sky
But I guess when you've been leadin' such a sheltered life
You never lift your head and look so high

You don't have a lot
But it's all that you've got, and you can turn it into more than it seems
Just give it a shot
Fantasize every movement and imagine every inch of your dream

No-one said it had to be real
But it's got to be something you can reach out and feel now
It ain't right, it ain't fair
Castles fall in the sand and we fade in the air
And the good girls go to heaven, but the bad girls go everywhere
Good girls go to heaven, but the bad girls go everywhere
Somebody told me so
Somebody told me, now I know every night in my prayer
I'll be praying that the good girls go to heaven, but the bad girls go everywhere

When the sweat is sizzling on your skin in the dark
And you're desperate now for somewhere to turn
Every muscle in rebellion, every nerve is on edge
And every limb has been erotically burned

Hey Johnny, Johnny, why are you shaking
When a boy should do whatever he can?
You've been nothing but an angel every day of your life
And now you wonder what it's like to be [darn]ed

You don't have a lot
But it's all that you've got, and you can turn it into more than it seems
Just give it a shot
Fantasize every movement and imagine every inch of your dream

No-one said it had to be real
But it's got to be something you've been wanting to feel now
It ain't right, it ain't fair
Castles fall in the sand, and we fade in the air
And the good boys go to heaven, but the bad boys go everywhere
Good boys go to heaven, but the bad boys go everywhere
Somebody told me so
Somebody told me, now I know every night in my prayer
I'll be praying that the good boys go to heaven, but the bad boys go everywhere

Every time I try and dream you
I can't believe how hard it's been to conjure up your face and trace your body
Oh, the seconds go on forever, but the thirds and the fourth ones are even better
Every time I do it just a little bit longer
Every time I dream it's just a little bit stronger than real life

No-one said it had to be real
But it's got to be something you can reach out and feel now
It ain't right, it ain't fair
Castles fall in the sand and we fade in the air
And the good girls go to heaven, but the bad girls go everywhere
Good girls go to heaven, but the bad girls go everywhere
Somebody told me so
Somebody told me, now I know every night in my prayer,
I'll be praying that the good girls go to heaven, but the bad girls go everywhere

Good girls go to heaven, bad girls go everywhere
Good girls go to heaven, bad girls go everywhere
Good girls go to heaven, bad girls go everywhere
Good girls go to heaven, bad girls go everywhere
Good girls go to heaven, bad girls go everywhere
Good girls go to heaven, bad girls go everywhere

For whatever reason, I have this memory stuck in my head of this time where I said, for some topical reason, "good girls go to heaven", then my friend said "bad girls go everywhere" and we bumped fists.

Come out Virginia, don't let me wait
You Catholic girls start much too late
Ah but sooner or later it comes down to fate
I might as well, will be the one

Well they showed you a statue and told you to pray
They built you a temple and locked you away
Ah but they never told you the price that you pay
For things that you might have done

Only the good die young
That's what I said
Only the good die young
Only the good die young

You might have heard I run with a dangerous crowd
We ain't too pretty, we ain't too proud
We might be laughing a bit too loud
Ah but that never hurt noone

So come on Virginia show me a sign
Send up a signal I'll throw you a line
That stained glass curtain you're hiding behind
Never lets in the sun

Darlin only the good die young
I tell you only the good die young
Only the good die young

You get a nice white dress
And a party on your confirmation
You've got a brand new soul
Mm and a cross of gold
But Virginia they didn't give you
Quite enough information
You didn't count on me
When you were counting on your rosary
And they say there's a heaven for those who will wait
Some say it's better but I say it ain't

I'd rather laugh with the sinners
Than cry with the saints
The sinners are much more fun

You know that only the good die young
I tell you only the good die young
Only the good die young

You said your mother told you
All I could give you was a reputation
Ah she never cared for me
But did she ever say a prayer for me?

Come out, come out, come out Virginia
Don't let me wait
You Catholic girls start much too late
Sooner or later it comes down to fate
I might as well, will be the one
You know that only the good die young
Tell you baby
You know that only the good die young

Woo, Billy Joel!

I am the entertainer
And I know just where I stand
Another serenader
And another long-haired band
Today I am your champion
I may have won your hearts
But I know the game
You will forget my name
And I won't be here
In another year
If I don't stay on the charts

I am the entertainer
And I've had to pay my price
The things I did not know at first
I learned by doin' twice
Ah, but still they come to haunt me
Still they want their say
So I've learned to dance
With a hand in my pants
And they rub my neck
And I write 'em a check
And they go their merry way

I am the entertainer
Been all around the world
I've played all kinds of palaces
And laid all kinds of girls
I can't remember faces
I don't remember names
Ah, but what the hell
You know it's just as well
'Cause after a while
And a thousand miles
It all becomes the same

I am the entertainer
I bring to you my songs
I'd like to spend a day or two
I can't stay that long
No, I've got to meet expenses
I got to stay in line
Gotta get those fees
To the agencies
And I'd love to stay
But there's bills to pay
So I just don't have the time

I am the entertainer
I come to do my show
You've heard my latest record
It's been on the radio
Ah, it took me years to write it
They were the best years of my life
It was a beautiful song
But it ran too long
If you're gonna have a hit
You gotta make it fit
So they cut it down to 3:05

I am the entertainer
The idol of my age
I make all kinds of money
When I go on the stage
Ah, you've seen me in the papers
I've been in the magazines
But if I go cold
I won't get sold
I'll get put in the back
In the discount rack
Like another can of beans

I am the entertainer
And I know just where I stand
Another serenader
And another long-haired band
Today I am your champion
I may have won your hearts
But I know the game
You will forget my name
And I won't be here
In another year
If I don't stay on the charts.

There's this really dark, juvenile corner of my mind that wants to write a a parody of this called "The [Greatest Handheld Game]er", but I know I could probably never look myself in the mirror if I did that.

Meanwhile, I have a list of euphemisms for said act longer than Chuck Norris' johnson, my favourite of which is "slaying the white-blooded ogre".

It's nine o'clock on a Saturday
The Regular crowd shuffles in
There's an old man sitting next to me
Makin' love to his tonic and gin

He says, "Son, can you play me a memory
I'm not really sure how it goes
But it's sad and it's sweet and I knew it complete
When I wore a younger man's clothes."

La la la, di da da
La la, di da da da dum

Sing us a song, you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright

Now John at the bar is a friend of mine
He gets me my drinks for free
And he's quick with a joke or to light up your smoke
But there's someplace that he'd rather be
He says, "Bill, I believe this is killing me."
As the smile ran away from his face
"Well I'm sure that I could be a movie star
If I could get out of this place"

Oh, la la la, di da da
La la, di da da da dum

Now Paul is a real estate novelist
Who never had time for a wife
And he's talkin' with Davy, who's still in the Navy
And probably will be for life

And the waitress is practicing politics
As the businessmen slowly get stoned
Yes, they're sharing a drink they call loneliness
But it's better than drinkin' alone

Chorus
Sing us a song you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well we're all in the mood for a melody
And you got us feeling alright

It's a pretty good crowd for a Saturday
And the manager gives me a smile
'Cause he knows that it's me they've been comin' to see
To forget about life for a while
And the piano, it sounds like a carnival
And the microphone smells like a beer
And they sit at the bar and put bread in my jar
And say, "Man, what are you doin' here?"

Oh, la la la, di da da
La la, di da da da dum

Sing us a song you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well we're all in the mood for a melody
And you got us feeling alright

Well, if I ever figure I've got nothing to lose and decide to write it, I know who to call if I run out of double-entendres.

Call me a joker, call me a fool
Right at this moment I'm totally cool
Clear as a crystal, sharp as a knife
I feel like I'm in the prime of my life
Sometimes it feels like I'm going too fast
I don't know how long this feeling will last
Maybe it's only tonight

Darling, I don't know why I go to extremes
Too high or too low, there ain't no in-betweens
And if I stand or I fall
It's all or nothing at all
Darling, I don't know why I go to extremes

Sometimes I'm tired, sometimes I'm shot
Sometimes I don't know how much more I've got
Maybe I'm headed over the hill
Maybe I've set myself up for the kill
Tell me how much do you think you can take
Until the heart in you is starting to break?
Sometimes it feels like it will

Darling, I don't know why I go to extremes
Too high or too low, there ain't no in-betweens
You can be sure when I'm gone
I won't be out there too long
Darling, I don't know why I go to extremes

Out of the darkness, into the light
Leaving the scene of the crime
Either I'm wrong or I'm perfectly right every time
Sometimes I lie awake, night after night
Coming apart at the seams
Eager to please, ready to fight
Why do I go to extremes?

And if I stand or I fall
It's all or nothing at all
Darling, I don't know why I go to extremes

No, I don't know why I go to extremes
Too high or too low
There ain't no in-betweens
You can be sure when I'm gone
I won't be out there too long
Darling, I don't know why I go to extremes

I don't know why...I don't know why...
I don't know why...I don't know why...
Out in the dark...into the light...
Either I'm wrong...perfectly right.

Ah, look at all the lonely people
Ah, look at all the lonely people

Eleanor Rigby picks up the rice in the church where a wedding has been
Lives in a dream
Waits at the window, wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door
Who is it for?

All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?

Father McKenzie writing the words of a sermon that no one will hear
No one comes near.
Look at him working, darning his socks in the night when there's nobody there
What does he care?

All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?

Ah, look at all the lonely people
Ah, look at all the lonely people

Eleanor Rigby died in the church and was buried along with her name
Nobody came
Father McKenzie wiping the dirt from his hands as he walks from the grave
No one was saved

All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?

The sirens are screaming and the fires are howling
Way down in the valley tonight
There's a man in the shadows with a gun in his eye
And a blade shining oh so bright
There's evil in the air and there's thunder in the sky
And a killer's on the bloodshot streets
Oh, and down in the tunnel where the deadly are rising
Oh, I swear I saw a young boy
Down in the gutter
He was starting to foam in the heat

Ah baby, you're the only thing in this whole world
That's pure and good and right
And wherever you are and wherever you go
There's always gonna be some light
But I gotta get out
I gotta break it out now
Before the final crack of dawn
So we gotta make the most of our one night together
When it's over you know
We'll both be so alone

Like a bat out of hell
I'll be gone when the morning comes
When the night is over
Like a bat out of hell I'll be gone, gone, gone
Like a bat out of hell I'll be gone when the morning comes
But when the day is done
And the sun goes down
And moonlight's shining through
Then like a sinner before the gates of heaven
I'll come crawling on back to you

I'm gonna hit the highway like a battering ram
On a silver black phantom bike
When the metal is hot and the engine is hungry
And we're all about to see the light
Nothing ever grows in this rotting old hole
Everything is stunted and lost
And nothing really rocks
And nothing really rolls
And nothing's ever worth the cost

And I know that I'm [darn]ed if I never get out
And maybe I'm [darn]ed if I do
But with every other beat I got left in my heart
You know I'd rather be [darn]ed with you
Well, If I gotta be [darn]ed, you know I wanna be [darn]ed
Dancing through the night with you
If I gotta be [darn]ed, you know I wanna be [darn]ed
Gotta be [darn]ed, you know I wanna be [darn]ed
Gotta be [darn]ed, you know I wanna be [darn]ed
Dancing through the night
Dancing through the night
Dancing through the night with you

Ah baby, you're the only thing in this whole world
That's pure and good and right
And wherever you are and wherever you go
There's always gonna be some light
But I gotta get out
I gotta break it out now
Before the final crack of dawn
So we gotta make the most of our one night together
When it's over you know
We'll both be so alone

Like a bat out of hell
I'll be gone when the morning comes
When the night is over
Like a bat out of hell I'll be gone, gone, gone
Like a bat out of hell I'll be gone when the morning comes
But when the day is done
And the sun goes down
And moonlight's shining through
Then like a sinner before the gates of heaven
I'll come crawling on back to you
Then like a sinner before the gates of heaven
I'll come crawling on back to you

I can see myself tearing up the road
Faster than any other boy has ever gone
And my skin is raw but my soul is ripe
And no one's gonna stop me now
I gotta make my escape
But I can't stop thinking of you
And I never see the sudden curve until it's way too late
And I never see the sudden curve 'till it's way too late

Then I'm dying at the bottom of a pit in the blazing sun
Torn and twisted at the foot of a burning bike
And I think somebody somewhere must be tolling a bell
And the last thing I see is my heart
Still beating
Oh breaking out of my body
And flying away
Like a bat out of hell
Then I'm dying at the bottom of a pit in the blazing sun
Torn and twisted at the foot of a burning bike
And I think somebody somewhere must be tolling a bell
And the last thing I see is my heart
Still beating
Still beating
Oh, breaking out of my body and flying away
Like a bat out of hell
Like a bat out of hell
Like a bat out of hell
Like a bat out of hell
Like a bat out of hell

Oh, and you also double-poted "Good Girls Go To Heaven (Bad Girls Go Everywhere). Sorry for crushing your hopes, dreams, ambitions and everything you've ever cared for.

When I get older losing my hair,
Many years from now,
Will you still be sending me a valentine
Birthday greetings, bottle of wine?

If I'd been out till quarter to three
Would you lock the door,
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I'm sixty-four?

You'll be older too,
And if you say the word,
I could stay with you.

I could be handy mending a fuse
When your lights have gone.
You can knit a sweater by the fireside
Sunday mornings go for a ride.

Doing the garden, digging the weeds,
Who could ask for more?
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I'm sixty-four?

Every summer we can rent a cottage
In the Isle of Wight, if it's not too dear
We shall scrimp and save
Grandchildren on your knee
Vera, Chuck, and Dave

Send me a postcard, drop me a line,
Stating point of view.
Indicate precisely what you mean to say
Yours sincerely, Wasting Away.

Give me your answer, fill in a form
Mine for evermore
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I'm sixty-four?

Anyone who doesn't post at least one Christmas song between now and the Big Day is an honourary Scrooge.

Have a holly jolly Christmas
It's the best time of the year
I don't know if there'll be snow
But have a cup of cheer

Have a holly jolly Christmas
And when you walk down the street,
Say hello to friends you know
and everyone you meet

Oh, oh, the mistletoe hung where you can see
Somebody waits for you, kiss her once for me

Have a holly jolly Christmas
And in case you didn't here,
Oh, by golly have a holly jolly Christmas this year!

Have a holly jolly Christmas
It's the best time of the year

Have a holly jolly Christmas
And when you walk down the street,
Say hello to friends you know
and everyone you meet.

Oh, oh, the mistletoe hung where you can see
Somebody waits for you, kiss her once for me!

Have a holly jolly Christmas

Oh, by golly have a holly jolly Christmas this year!

Bought this for GH5 the other day, and I figured since I was already going to look up the lyrics...

One at a time
Constants becomes surreal
One at a time
Heart attacks
are concealed
I can see that I
Lose the joys of life
One at a time
Suicides are revealed
You will see that I
lost another life
But tonight

I'll let you tear it up
If you don't wake me up
But if you tear it
We can't repair it
So please don't wake me
'Till someone cares
Now no one cares

One at a time
I watch them all forget
One at a time
I'm lost in little deaths
It's the place that I
I forget my life
Like tonight

I'll let you tear it up
If you don't wake me up
But if you tear it
We can't repair it
So please don't wake me
'Till someone cares
Now no one cares

Will the flood behind me
Put out the fire inside me?
Will the flood behind me
Put out the fire inside me?

I'll let you tear it up
Oh, Oh, Oh
I'll let you break it up
Oh, Oh, Oh
If you don't wake me up
Oh, Oh, Oh
But if you tear it
Oh, Oh, Oh
We can't repair it
Oh, Oh, Oh
So please don't wake me
Oh, Oh, Oh
'Till someone cares
Now no one cares... cares

I'll let you tear it up
If you don't wake me up
'Cause it's apparent
That you don't care, and
Its sunk into me
Because I don't care
Now no one cares
