Video Game Chat / Re: Sonic Generations

It's good to know that the Classic mode physics are better than Sonic 4's physics (I downloaded a demo of it on my phone and was highly disappointed). I don't like the inclusion of the boost in Modern mode because Sonic is about momentum-based gameplay :/.

Wow! These are incredible! Maybe I should have a Mario theme on my wedding...!

Maybe N is MissingNo. Number 0 on the National Pokédex.

I hope he's not being serious about this. Born from a Pokémon? That doesn't make sense at all.

Video Game Chat / Re: Why are game companies bringing back old stuff?

While I liked all the "old stuff" in Super Paper Mario, I'd say it's Nintendo's fault for marketing the game as a platformer like Super Mario Bros. rather than an addition to the Paper Mario series.

So, now that we are in VGC, who thinks Sega might be a little lazy with Sonic Generations?

I'm not sure about that, actually. Going through most of the zones in the Sonic games packed into one game, along with two different playstyles sounds pretty neat to me (provided the physics engine is as good as the original Genesis games for 2D Sonic and SA2 for Modern Sonic). It makes me think of how awesome it would be if they made a Pokemon game where you can visit all the old regions in addition to the new region that's introduced.

Also, I would like this to be moved to Video Game Chat so that we can talk about Sonic Generations.

Should I change the title as well?

Video Game Chat / Re: Meta Banned
« on: October 02, 2011, 03:58:21 PM »
The thing about Meta Knight isn't necessarily his power or defense; it's his priority. Most of his attacks have priority equivalent to air attacks, meaning they can't be canceled and either override other attacks or get overriden. This makes some of his attacks, including his neutral B and side B, unnecessarily hard to get through. Also, I think his Down Smash is ridiculously strong for how fast and spammable it is. I've had problems with some Meta Knights, but that doesn't mean I wasn't able to beat them. The biggest problem I had however, was that I was clearly more skilled than the other player and was having trouble simply because of the character he/she was playing as. I fully support this ban for competitive Brawl play (not that I play it competitively much anymore).

I'm actually fine with the art style of Yoshi's Island DS, Bowser's Inside Story, and etc. I'd just like to see something new.

I'm leaving for college tomorrow but I'll still be able to post on here occasionally. Unfortunately I won't be able to make any videos, though.

The video footage of Paper Mario 3DS and Super Mario 3D Land look amazing! I can't wait for their release dates!

I agree with Toad. However, I would like the PM and M&L games to keep their unique style. Another Mario game that had its own style would be great too, but honestly I'd be fine if they kept the NSMB style.

Video Game Chat / Re: Best/Worst Controllers

GCN controller could use a better Z button (and another one) and clicky sticks, though.

I always liked the Z button on the Gamecube controller; I never found it annoying to press. While I don't find a need for another one, I do agree that another one could've improved the controller.
