Title: The Thread Where MaxVance Loses Five Bucks
Post by: Lizard Dude on May 20, 2007, 07:58:44 PM
Earlier...

<MaxVance> And this is Fairemaster, if you haven't seen him: http://themushroomkingdom.net/board/index.php?topic=5060.msg432801#msg432801
<Rao> PtPeach's sig on that page is awesome.
* Rao mails Lizard_Dude $5
<MaxVance> Eh, he isn't that cool or good at games.
<Rao> he gave me Pocky
<MaxVance> Just WoW and DDR.
<MaxVance> Now if he played WoW and DDR at the same time...
<SolidShroom> LD is also good at Guitar Hero, Max.
<MaxVance> The way that sounded reminded me of Boo_penguin.
<MaxVance> Boo_penguin was cool and good at games.
<MaxVance> I wonder what he could buy with $5 in Argentina?

--------------------------------------------------------

Now...

MaxVance I could beat you at any game ever made. You choose the game and we'll play. It can be anything. Loser pays the winner $5.

What's the matter?

Chicken?

All right, we'll choose a game you've already played. And that game is...
NANACA†CRASH!! (http://megami.starcreator.com/nanaca-crash/)

Lizard Dude, this (http://lizarddude.kontek.net/Nanacacrash%20Record.JPG) is your record. If I am not able to beat this record before next Sunday, I will send you $5. If I beat it, you send me $5. Agreed?

EDIT: Sorry. That first  picture was bigger than I thought..

Wow, you pick a 99% luck-based Flash distance hitting game where I already have a posted score from the couple of times I even played that you ostensibly try to beat for a week while I sit and do nothing while in reality you already have a screenshot of a higher score, explaining why you quickly picked such a random game off a screenshot in my massive list of online files.

Can't we just roll a die to see who wins?

If you decide to get serious and play a game, do you have any multiplayer PC titles, for starters? Preferably something with replay. StarCraft or any of the Warcrafts would be good, since a bajillion people own them and could watch the replays of your defeat, over and over again.

Post back when you grow a pair, MaxPansy.

Oh, so you aren't going to agree to your own terms? Where I get to choose the game? Any game ever made? Hmph.

Forget it, the bet's off. I don't already have a score to beat yours. If I did, wouldn't my computer's date/time show a different date from before I made this challenge? Also, though I understand the part of me trying to beat it for a week, I see you don't have the confidence in your own score to allow me to challenge it (and TEM said in #tmk that it was a dumb challenge on my part).  I see who the real pansy is.

Sorry Deezer, SolidShroom, and Toad, there'll be no fun here.

Actually, the fun's just getting STARTED!

I'm a pansy because I want to play a game that actually involves a whit of skill? I'm a pansy because I don't like the idea of the contest consisting solely of you trying to beat a score I set two years ago, while I meanwhile do nothing?

Nay, the pansy is the man who runs, tail between his legs, at the mere mention of skill-based gaming.

Come on, SuxVance, pick a game. Where we play each other. That involves skill.

MaxVance doesn't have any games he can play on his computer.
He uses a Mac, remember?

All right, the bet's back on. I've decided on a game that we both have and can play against each other, and that requires a lot of skill. That game is Metroid Prime Hunters. We will play in Survival mode with no extra lives, meaning that the first one to die loses. How about that?

Haw haw, his CT reads MaxPansy. Name calling is just another psychological tactic the dude who usually loses the contest uses against his opponent, though. :)

I would like to put something else on the line. If I lose, I keep my current CT. If I win, my CT will be removed and LD's will be changed to "Loser Dude." Shall we do that, too?

Dang, the stakes keep getting higher (if LD agrees to the terms, that is). I'm going to laugh if you lose, Max.

I'm going to laugh if either MaxVance or Lizard Dude loses.

I'm laughing that the two are only betting 5 dollars. Should be more like............20.  ;)

It was based off of this.
Make this your sig:

"Lizard Dude is the man. He is so cool. And so good at games. Everyone should mail him $5."

Actually everyone on the forum should make that their sig.
When I said what I said he then challenged me in #tmk (which I didn't take seriously). Then he posted this.

I kind wish this challenge came about after Brawl was released and it's online mode was good to go. That would've been even more awesome.

$5 to myself if anything becomes of this. Methinks Lizard Dude is bluffing. Did you know that, a year ago, he was mugged by an old lady after crying for ten minutes from a kitten scratch? And then he cried some more after losing a slapping fight to a comatose 8-year-old.

This'll be fun. I think I'll change #uberpwn's topic to something a little more... special for this occasion!

See now there's a real game. I agree to the CT terms as well.

But why one life? I'll kill you in like seven seconds.

C'mon LizardDude and MaxVance! What happened? How did it end??

Did it end? Mabey they are still playing. XD

Maybe LizardDude and MaxVance met on the battlefield, looked into another's eyes, and embraced.  Love blossomed on that day.

Incidentally, I fought MaxVance on his terms recently-- survival, one life. The battle raged (okay, not really-- we were two people at a big battlefield) for about 9 minutes. I felt only a little rusty, but Max still gave me a run for my energy cells.
