Since Mario Party 8 was just released. I was was wondering which of the Mario Parties 1 through 8 was your favorite game, or you thought was the best. For me, I thought the 1st one was the best. Because you had a goal to achieve, you got 100 stars and you got the last board and the game was over. I would like to see that style brought badck for mario Party 9
-
Party 2 had the best minigames, boardmaps and even costumes.
-
No, Mario Party Three has better minigames.
-
I always thought the first three were the best equally. Each of them has something that makes them stand out. If they'd make an MP that somehow combines all the best features from the first three, mini-games especially, I will die happy.
-
You forgot Mario Party Advance (did anyone play that?) and the Mario Party-e cards.
-
I own all the Mario Parties (save for eight, which just came out), and can tell you all about them, if you like. :)

...Why?
I made a topic like this. Voting 4. It's the only one I've got and I'm GLAD. Until one with Wi-fi gets here. Which could be next year.

Because I am a little bit OC (Obsessive Compulsive) and must own nearly everything Mario that I can get my hands on.

The Mario Party games have always been met with mixed reviews at a place called the Fungi Forums. One day, a FF member named gardawg asked "Which Mario Party is more impressive, 2 or 3?" PaperLuigi responded with "2 is far more dazzling," while SushieBoy said "No way, 3 is cooler!" PaperLuigi and SushieBoy argued over which Mario Party was the best. "2 is way more dazzling," said PaperLuigi. "No, 3 is way more cooler!" PL and SB fought for hours in the sky over the superiority of the 2 Party games. It seemed as if nothing could end their furious feud! When suddenly, as if out of nowhere, Bird Person suggested that everyone at the Fungi Forums play Mario Party to gather stars and end PL's and SB's fight. To which was met with tomatoes and boos from the audience.

None of this is true.
-
Which one did Toad vote for?!
-
As if we need FG&S leaking into Mario Chat.
-
I think some got on my shoe!!

Finally! Someone with a similar plight as I!
Well, every game has its own unique quirk--some more significant than others--but until further notice, Mario Party 5--those car battles (though out of place) were awesome!
I never owned (though did casually play one or two of) the N64 parties, but I'll chance I'd find them mediocre in light of newer MP titles.

None of this is true.
Sadly, it is only a parody I made up based on the 6th Mario Party.
-
I never played any of the Mario Parties upwards of 5, so I'm saying that number 4 was the best.

Somebody actually cares about me?! *cries*
I haven't cast a vote yet, though I know which two (or three) I am not going to vote for: Mario Party Advance, Mario Party E, and Mario Party 8.
The two handheld Mario Parties were good, but E suffered from not enough exposure (I don't remember it ever being advertised) and Advance had no replay value (though some of the minigames are fun). Once I finished Advance, I had no desire to go back and play it again, since some of the minigames were frustrating enough the first time (some of the Baby Bowser games..)
-
Advance sucked. I don't even know where to begin.
-
I can't imagine why anyone would pay for Advance. I mean, I regret ever wasting some megabytes downloading the ROM.
-
Mario Party 3 > Mario Party 1 & 2 > Every GC Mario Party title > e and Advance.
Haven't tried the Wii version, but I'll assume it's just as mediocre as the GC ones.
-
Huh. I thought I was the only one who really like Mario Party 3.
But really, Mario Party 3 had some great minigames, like Aces High and Snowball Summit.
-
Don't forget Toadstool Titan and the one with the doors....
-
Right, I forgot about those. You know what else I liked, though? Most of the dueling games, like Vine With Me.
-
That's exactly the reason I think MP3 is the best of the series. The dueling mini-gmaes provided a lot of fun and expanded the single player mode, not to mention the differences between dueling boards and party boards, like the partner battles and the whole oneupmanship of it all.
-
Mario Party 2 had some fun mingames like "Sneak n' Snore", "Abandon Ship" and "Shock, Drop and Roll".
-
Heck, the first three had the best mini-games of the entire series. We need a game that combines them all into one package.
-
What I hate are minigames that deal with cleaning something. Most of these appear in 4-7.
-
I liked two 'cuz of the duels. There was fencing and stuff, and it was fun.
I also loved the milk hootinanies in the western level.
-
What I thought needed to go are all the mini-games based entirely around chance. This is especially irritating if they're Battle Mini-Games, because they may as well just take coins from everyone and redistribute them randomly.

It's time for a Bowser Revolution!

I used to irritate my brother by calling on one of those everytime he was about to get a star.

Ah man, I hate those. I’d have over 200 some-odd coins only to get reduced to about 30.

Mmmm... In Mario Party 4, the Chain Chomp battle game and that one in which you carefully cross a narrow strip of land over a canyon are skill-based. So is the butterfly-catching one. Bowser's Bigger Blast is luck-based but the explosions are pretty hilarious. Love to point at whoever got blown up and say "HA HA HA YOU GOT BLOW'D UP!!!!!!" Then you get third place... no good.
-
Yeah, I always wondered why they'd cheat third place out of some money.
