This has been bugging me for the past few days. How do you pronounce that one word that does not apply to the Marioverse?
-
The same way you pronounce cannon.
-
I always said "cannon." The American Heritage Dictionary says (kān'ən), and I think that's similar. It's been a while since I learned how to interpret those things.
-
/me shoots Kojinka with a canon
That phonetic thing would sound like "cane-uhn," but until now I've always said cannon.
-
You mean the camera company?
-
No, the camera company is always pronounced as cannon.
-
Well what does the word that Kojinka's talking about mean?
-
Hint: Mario games don't have one.
-
You guys are goofballs and Bird Person is wrong. It is pronounced exactly the same as "cannon".
-
Bird Person was only interpreting the American Heritage Dictionary pronunciation.
-
Well...think of something that pirates shot big, cast-iron balls out of at other ships, and you'll know how to pronounce it.
-
'Mariology mob attacks Kojinka'
-
I've always pronounced it like cannon. I just wasn't sure what the proper pronounciation was.
-
Shouldn't canon rhyme with Ganon or something? Just a thought.
-
Which sounds suspiciously like the word "cannon".
I don't know, young people today....

Pronounced "go ree".

That would be exactly my point.
-
I believe it is pernounced like the word "cannon" would be. I don't see a need for more people to post on this thread.
-
Wait, so we should stop posting because you added your opinion?
-
That isn't an opinion, man. That is the way the word is pronounced.
