Yes, it's once again time for the something-th annual Glorb's Spooktober Spooktacular! In just a while, it'll be Halloween, the best holiday besides Christmas and my birthday. Anywhich, you should know the deal: yak about costumes, movies, fatal pumpkin-carving incidents and the like. Personally, I'm trying to decide whether to go as Gordon Freeman or Cthulhu. Neither costume will be particularly easy to design, but that's half the fun; the other half is, of course, gorging yourself with eight pounds of candy. And maybe, like, 10% of it is going to Halloween costume parties.

I do the same thing for Halloween as I do for Valentine's Day.

Also, you joined just like a minute ago.
I love those haunted houses, especially when the walls are made of black trash bags like they all seem to be where I come from.
-
I like how on Hallaween I go to this persons house and it's like a haunted maze. It's cool and scary. One thing I don't like is candy. :0 P.S How do I post a topic?
What town do you live in??? I know a house like that!
-
Meh, I don't really do anything for Halloween. To me, it's just another holiday that really isn't all that important.

As many would expect (which is still kind of insulting), I am dressing up as Buckethead and will be passing out candy. I will be playing mad guitar and bass while passing it all out. I'll also do my best Buckethead impersonation ever that night. I should be getting a mask soon :D.
-
If it's on a weekend, I'm most likely going to be doing nothing and handing out candies to the little children.
If it's during the week I might participate in a few of the activities the college is having.
-
I painted a pumpkin. I'll put up pictures of it when I can.
-
Eh, I don't have any plans. I'm considering having a marathon of the Treehouse of Horror episodes of The Simpsons. I have all the seasons so far so it should be good watching. I might also get Luigi's Mansion from my boyfriend and play that. Maybe even challenge myself by using side-step control.

9000 hours in MSPaint.

Halloween is really really rockin' if executed it correctly. Last year my friend and I went trick-or-treating (fourteen too old? Whatevs! I'm up to it this year, even). I was Mario, somplete with a ? Block to contain candy. John was a chef, complete with a bowl and whisk for his. It was absolutely perfect, except my fake mustache wouldn't stick.
So this year I think we're gonna try to get Graydon/G-Dawg to come with us. He has an uncle with an October 31st birthday so he always misses out. I say screw that--if I were an uncle born on a holiday would I forever take the fun of that holiday from my nephews and nieces? No! I'd just celebrate it the day before or something. Anyway, it wouldn't work if we went through the same town, so I'll propose we go someplace else. I'll probably just be Mario again.

It's on a Wednesday this year.

I'm planning to go dressed up as King Leonidas from 300 along with a couple of my friends while charging around at night screaming "This is Sparta!" to random children.
My second backup plan is to go as amalgram of random internet memes, such as a Bidoof chargin his lazuh or Jack Spicer with Konata's hair and Chris Benoit's tights.
My least likely option is cross dressing, though I would like to see what it feels like to walk around in a skirt.
More than likely though, I'll bust out my new cargo pants and go as a really slim Matt Hardy look-a-like.
-
Dig a pit in your yard and kick the kids into it.
-
I'll just sit around eating excess candy and watching It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and The Nightmare Before Christmas.
-
This is on display in my dorm room. Yes, they're on the same pumpkin.

The towel was used to keep the light from reflecting on the pumpkin's surface.

^ All Hallow's Pwnage.
LOVE Halloween. Not as much as Christmas, but I still have a big party every year. Candy, apple bobbing, carefully carved pumpkins, elaborate decorations, the whole shebang. This year, I think I'll be going as Psykid (the teenage superhero I made up that The Dark is Rising STOLE...)
-
Muhaha, wait until you all see what I have planned for my son and I
-
That's adorable, Kojinka! Kinda makes me want to pop Mario Party 2 into the ol' N64 and play the Horror Land board.
-
Well, I've yet to decide between my costume choices (Gordon Freeman or Cthulhu), but I'm leaning towards Gordon since it would work with my glasses. However, Cthulhu would give me a chance to wear a mask made out of paper-mache and a rubber glove.
-
^ I saw a Cthulhu-esque mask at a Halloween store, but maybe it was just a Davy Jones rip-off...
-
Well, I could settle for a PotC Davy Jones mask, change it up a little bit, and pass it off as Cthulhu, I guess. I mean, where I live, half the people would say I'm either a cowboy or Harry Potter, so I guess it doesn't matter too much.
-
You know, I was thinking of going as myself, if I even end up going trick-or-treating. I can be pretty scary at times... Plus, I do a great BriGuy92 impersonation. I'll probably try to beat Luigi's Mansion in under 2 hours, as well.
-
I'm not sure what I should go as this year. I could go as what I was last year. Last Halloween, I was sick and I couldn't go out, but my TWIN sister gave me a bag of candy anyway(cue the adorable AWWW!!!s). I was happy after that. :D :D :D
-
I was planning on going to our dress-up homecoming dance as Mario, but after I found out that I have to do the dance setup I realized that would have meant I would have to spend 15 to 17 hours there on Saturday. That's not my idea of fun so I'm skipping the dance and cleanup.
-
Yeah, they were doing the homecoming skits at my school when of the teachers ran in dressed as Mario, hit a block-on-a-string, grabbed a "coin", and ran off. Later, he pelted some guy in a Bowser costume (traffic cones for spikes) with "fireballs" and ran off with some girl dressed as a Princess. Odd, but hilarious.
-
I can't decide what to be for Halloween! I have dressed up as a thin Mario (the overalls fit just so that I could stuff any pillows or anything down my front), Toad (a chef's hat with painted on red dots and some stuffing to that it doesn't go all flat..), Willy Wonka (I did that when I worked at Walmart *shudder* and it won me one free day of paid vacation..)
The Wonka costume was cool because it was a conglomeration of all known Wonkas (I even gave out a few Wonka bars, but I ran out before noon).
Mario and Toad wouldn't be hard to pull off again, but I was thinking of either being Mickey Mouse as the wizard's apprentice, or the enchanted broom-stick from the same cartoon (from the movie Fantasia, if you don't know/remember).
As for trick or treating, I am 24 years old, so I don't think I'll be doing that. I'll probably go to BK's halloween party, unless I either worked there all day, or my fiancee and her sister have other plans.
-
I've been looking at Wal-Mart, and the possibilities are looking grim. There aren't any plain rubber masks that I can spray-paint green and add tentacles to, and I the only wings I can find are sparkly fairy wings. However I might be able to make something out of paper-mache.
-
Well, I've got the mask. It's a blank female instead of blank male, but it'll have to do. Now, the only question is...
Do I wear my glasses (http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/7313/2007102073502po4.jpg) over the mask or don't (http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/6958/2007102077651tg7.jpg) I?
I kind of think it's interesting to have the glasses, and I can actually see, but without is more original to Buckethead. However, I'm strongly leaning towards with the glasses, as I'm taking an original and making it my own.
Be wary that I am not trick or treating, I am passing out candy and playing guitar to passersby while cosplaying as Buckethead. Also, I may or may not get a long black wig soon. If I don't it's not the end of Boston Creme Pies, but it'd be nice.
-
Sweet! Buckethead costume! It may just be the camera angle or something, but in the photo with the glasses over the mask, you remind me of Strong Sad.
-
I plan on attending my classes as Mario on Wednesday. Hat's done.

A friend of mine and her husband are throwing an "after halloween" party on Saturday that they'd like me to attend to. Problem is, I'd have to dress up as a literary character.
The only costume I've worn in the last....9 years was a Jason mask. Was he in books?
-
I'm going as inertia for Halloween. I'm just going to have a plain shirt that says INERTIA on it, and I'm going to go around performing very inertia-like feats.
Cool, yes?
-
Well, warn your friends to not let you drive!!
-
Literary character is a fairly... difficult theme because
I) They are described in text and may not be instantly recognizable because people aren't used to seeing them, especially when everyone probably imagines them differently.
II) For this reason, literary characters are not often designed with flashy unique... costumes.
-
Well then going by that logic, I could be Charlie from Flowers for Algernon. That took place around the 1960s, and I assume casual clothing was fairly similar.
the only diffrens wud be that i woud rite lik dis, cuz charly gordon orijinaly has an eye-Q of 68.
-
If I had taken the time to make the hat and get a robe, I'd be trick-or-treating as Rincewind tomorrow. Since I didn't, I don't know what I'm going to do costume-wise...
-
You should have gotten a friend of yours to be Twoflower.

My Mario costume is almost finished. Just need the M emblem and a pair of white gloves. Of course if I had things my way, I'd be Luigi. I couldn't track down a green hat though. Actually, I haven't had a chance to try.
-
With LD's pic, it makes me think Mario wears glasses every so often, but has contacts in during his adventures.

He sure does. I have to wear glasses to take notes in psychology this morning. But I'm gonna try to wear my glasses as little as possible today.

My Dr. Salvador costume is finished. While I won't be able to drive people mad when they look at my, I will be able to saw their heads off with a cardboard chainsaw. While yelling in Spanish.
-
I'm totally Dimentio. Totally. I'm wearing the costume right now! :D
-
my mario costume. got a lot of compliments when i went to costume parties
-
Here's mine. Can't blame a gal for trying, right?

The red eye seems ominous.
Time for the Mario Finale?

Feliz Dio de los Muertos!

Well, I was Mario for Halloween, but I don't have any pictures just yet.
See, I was also Employee of the Month for October, and they chose to take my picture on the 31st, when I was wearing my costume. I didn't get to strike a pose, but I will have a picture to show you all in about a month, when we vote for the Employee for Novemeber.
