I know I'm late with this, but I just saw it on Nintendo Press. Anyway, the official press release: "Mario, Nintendo's iconic video game character, and Dr. Buzz Aldrin float in zero-gravity atmosphere to train for Mario's upcoming game set in space, Super Mario Galaxy for Wii on November 03, 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The game is available in stores Monday, Nov. 12."

Okay, so they sent an old ex-astronaut and a guy in a Mario suit into space? 'K...
-
I like-a the tang.

They didn't go into space. Far from it. They flew a parabolic curve to free fall. It was done by a company called Zero G: http://www.gozerog.com/g-force-one.htm
You can watch a video of Mario and Buzz in free-fall at http://www.mtv.com/overdrive/?vid=186976

"an old ex-astronaut"

Yeah, lol, that guy is the second man to ever walk on the moon. So he's pretty pr0!
(What are kids learning in school these days?)

If by "tube" you mean a modified Boeing 727-200 airplane, then yes. Do you always wonder so loudly? I have a feeling you didn't visit the link I provided above because it said "modified Boeing 727-200 aircraft" in the first sentence on the front page. Or maybe my sarcasm detectors are broken.
Buzz is one of my favorite Apollo astronaut because of his continued efforts to promote space science. He is one of the reasons I'm a proud member of The Planetary Society: http://www.planetary.org/home/

I didn't read it because somehow it just didn't like the most important thing in my life at that point.

Yet commenting on it was.

Yeah, pretty much.
