Title: Brawl Downloadable Content
Post by: megamush on March 29, 2008, 04:39:08 PM
I just read this article at: http://press-nintendo.110mb.com/article-jsp-id-14788.htm (http://press-nintendo.110mb.com/article-jsp-id-14788.htm)

Do you think its true?

I have heard that Nintendo confirmed downloadable content for the Wii, but doesn't Nintendo's press site require a Name and Password to sample it's knowledge handed down by the Gaming gods themselves read it?

Otherwise, this sounds like a grand announcement. All I need now is to find Nintendo's 500-digit friend code so we can communicate with them in order to obtain such content.

Super Smash Bros.® Brawl! Starting May 13, 2008, players will be able to add four undisclosed new characters and two new stages to the already large roster included in the stand-alone game for only 10.00 USD. Our customers will be even more pleased to discover that this particular package will be offered completely free of charge for the first month after the launch of Wii Want More. A better deal has never been offered by any company in the Video Game industry.

That sounds almost too good to be true.

Note the web address:

press-nintendo.110mb.com/article-jsp-id-14788.htm

Sorry, but this reeks of fake. 110mb.com is a free webhosting site, and Nintendo has their own site to host announcements on, so they wouldn't need a site like 110mb.com. It just looks like a cruel prank. >:(

Fake.  I witnessed Sakurai himself say how he wanted to but couldn't add downloadable content due to the lack of hard drive in the Wii.

Fake.

But it'd be nice if it were real.

Darn. Well, why should we be mad? Brawl has a lot of good characters to start with anyway.

I wouldn't be mad about it. Even if I did have Brawl. Brawl had me at Pit and Wario. Then they preceded to add even other great characters like Olimar, Lucario, Pokémon Trainer, R.O.B., etc.

I need a Wii already. :(
