There are many questions to ask so I couldn't just put one poll. So here they are:
1. Which do you prefer? Karts or bikes?
2. What is your opinion on how they (nintendo) made it so easy to go first to 12th place?
3. Which is your favorite Mario Kart game?
4. Which weight class do you prefer?
5. What are some tracks from previous games that you wanted to see in MKWii?
6. Which new course do you think is the hardest?
7. Which control scheme do you prefer?
8. What is your favorite new course?
9. What is your favorite Retro Cup in MKWii?
10. What do you think is the worst new course? Worst retro course?
I may add more later, and here are my answers:
1. Karts, definitely
2. It really frustrates me when that happens, especially at the end of the race
3. I would have to say Double Dash
4. I like to use Medium weight, but when I have to use bikes, I prefer Heavy/large
5. Tick Tock Clock and Airship Fortress from Ds and Royal Raceway from 64
6. Rainbow road, though Wario's mines is a close second.
7. Gamecube controller
8. I would have to say Koopa Cape.
9. N64 Bowser's Castle, it brings back memories.
10. Wario's Gold Mine (I don't like that course for some reason). For retro I'd say SNES ghost valley
As said in the title try not to give away spoilers, though secret courses are OK.
Edit: If you want to put new characters you can put them in spoiler text.
-
1. Karts, though bikes ARE fun
2. DO NOT WANT
3. 64 has a special place in my heart. It was also the first MK game I played.
4. I always use Yoshi, who is a middle-weight, so...
5. Wario's Colosseum, uhh Toad's Turnpike...Still would've liked to see a Rainbow Cup.
6. Maybe Moonview Highway.
7. Wii Wheel
8. Maple Treeway
9. Lightning Cup
10. Wii: Grumble Volcano Retro: SNES Boo whatever I don't care to call it by its proper name.
Also, I dislike N64 Mario Raceway, and always have ever since Mario Kart 64.
-
Why does everyone like Toad's Turnpike so much? It is a much-too-simple course with really weird music.
-
1. Bikes. I never get to red spikes anyway.
2. Gah, it sucks that you get touched and instantly lose. 150cc is quite a challenge...
3. Aside from Mario Kart Wii, Mario Kart DS is the non-arcade one I have played the least, and this is because the shoulder buttons on my DS Lite do not work. But they chose some excellent retro tracks, made some excellent new ones, and I'm going with it.
4. Middle.
5. Wario Collosseum, Waluigi Pinball, Mushroom City.
6. Don't get what everyone sees so difficult in Rainbow Road. I say Moonview Highway.
-
Well on Rainbow Road it seems like about half the boosts I go on shoot me off the stage. and sometimes I'll fall off the edge when going on sharp wall-less turns
-
Why does everyone like Toad's Turnpike so much? It is a much-too-simple course with really weird music.
Play it on mirror mode and it becomes more difficult.
And the music is awesome.
-
1. I don't know
2. Worst decision ever
3. MK64 It was my first Mario Kart, and I get a sense of nostalgia when I listen to the music.
4. I seem to do pretty well in the tall characters for some reason. I guess it's because they don't get knocked around as easily. It's odd because I mained with middle and light weight characters in past Mario Karts
5. Waluigi Pinball, Koopa Troopa Beach (MK 64), Airship Fortress
6. Moonview Highway. The drivers are unpredictable. Makes it too realistic, like if you and your friends actually decided to go go-karting on a busy street, unless you have amazing manuver skills, you are going to get hit a lot.
7. Having a hard time choosing between GCN controller and the Wii Wheel
8. Koopa Cape
-
Of course, you couldn't, since go-karts are not street-legal. Motorcycles, however, are. But if you're going to ride motorcycles in San Francisco, you might want to obey traffic laws and not throw Blue Shells.
-
1. Which do you prefer? Karts or bikes?
Bikes, for sure
2. What is your opinion on how they (nintendo) made it so easy to go first to 12th place?
I don't like it, I think blue shells and other super weapons are too common but meh
3. Which is your favorite Mario Kart game?
Mario Kart: Super Circuit
4. Which weight class do you prefer?
lightweight
5. What are some tracks from previous games that you wanted to see in MKWii?
Personally I wanted an all Rainbow Road cup. Oh, and Yoshi's Valley
6. Which new course do you think is the hardest?
Moonview Highway
-
1. Which do you prefer? Karts or bikes? --Karts
2. What is your opinion on how they (nintendo) made it so easy to go first to 12th place? --It's a challenge, but I can handle it.
3. Which is your favorite Mario Kart game? --This one is starting to be it (keep in mind, I just got it today), but otherwise, 64 definitely.
4. Which weight class do you prefer? --Lightweight. I like speed.
5. What are some tracks from previous games that you wanted to see in MKWii? --Yoshi's Valley, Waluigi Pinball, uhhh I forget the name because it's been a long time, but the stage in MK64 with the train.
6. Which new course do you think is the hardest? --What nearly everyone said, Moonview Highway.
-
1. Which do you prefer? Karts or bikes?
Bikes are fun, but I prefer the good old karts.
2. What is your opinion on how they (nintendo) made it so easy to go first to 12th place?
I've never fallen into 12th place in Solo GP but I do find it annoying how cmmon many of the powerful items are. Mainly the POW Blacks which can either kill your momentum or if over a jump, you fall to your doom.
3. Which is your favorite Mario Kart game?
Mario Kart: Double Dash
4. Which weight class do you prefer?
lightweight, even though I mainly play as as a certain Heavyweight
5. What are some tracks from previous games that you wanted to see in MKWii?
Koopa Beach 1, Daisy Cruiser, Airship Fortress, Vanilla Lake, Cheese Land and Royal Raceway
6. Which new course do you think is the hardest?
Moonview Highway probably
7. Which control scheme do you prefer?
Wiimote + Nunchuk, surprisingly
8. What is your favorite new course?
Coconut Mall, Koopa Cape and Maple Treeway
9. What is your favorite Retro Cup in MKWii?
Mario Circuit 3
10. What do you think is the worst new course? Worst retro course?
Yoshi Falls blows. Can't recall a bad new track though
-
I added 2 more questions and here they are:
7. Which control scheme do you prefer?
8. What is your favorite new course?
Here are my answers:
7. Gamecube controller
8. I would have to say Koopa Cape
Also it is now OK to put secret characters as long as they're inn spoiler text.us
-
7. GameCube Controller. It would be cool to master the Wheel, but it's... not great.
8. Koopa Cape rocks.
9. (I just know you're going to ask for favorite retro track next) Super NES Mario Circuit 3
-
Good idea! I'll add that
-
1. Bikes
2. It seriously ruins the game.
3. Mario Kart 64.
4. Heavyweights.
5. Sunset Wilds, Cheep Cheep Beach, Cheese Land and Royal Raceway.
6. Rainbow Road. My color-blindedness makes it super-hard. Sometimes I go off the track because I couldn't tell that I was going off it.
7. Classic Controller.
8. Moonview Highway. Nightime track + Cars = Awesomeness.
9. The one with Bowser's Castle 3...Leaf Cup?
-
1. Bikes.
2. I hate it. They shouldn't have done it.
3. It's too hard to choosme between MKDS and MKWii.
4. Either Middleweights or Lightweights, for speed purposes.
5. Donut Plains, Wario Stadium (N64), Mushroom Bridge.
6. Rainbow Road, Wario Goldmine, and Moonlight City (can't remember the name, it was Moonlight something) ONLY if you stay on the wrong side of the road.
7. Wheel. It works very well and it's fun to play with.
8. Mushroom Gorge and Coconut Mall.
9. Mario Raceway.
-
1. Which do you prefer? Karts or bikes?

Just reposting the questions so you don't have to go back to the first page.
And if anyone wants to suggest a question then tell me it. If it's good enough I may put it in the poll.
-
How about this...
10. What is the most pointless/stupidest new course, or old course that was picked?
-
1. I haven't tried bikes yet, but I've heard mixed results. Karts 4 Life!
2. It's just as easy to get back to first, so I'm ambivalent, really.
3. MKDS... Maybe MKDD.
4. Medium--Neither here nor there.
5. I never really sat down and thought about it, but I think Tick-Tock Clock, Luigi's Mansion, and Waluigi Pinball would've been nice (for some reason, all that comes to mind is MKDS tracks... it had lots of good ones!).
6. Rainbow Road is, per usual, frustrating.
7. I've only tried the Wheel so far, so that's my favorite by default. Besides, I was so used to using a + Pad in MKDS that when I went back to play MKDD once, I was a mess--I figure the same thing might happen here.
8. Plenty of great new courses... either Coconut Mall or that one Maple Tree level.
9. Favorite Retro Cup? Whichever one has DK Pass, I believe.
10. Worst New: I can't think of any that are "bad", but there's plenty of bland ones. Daisy Circuit, perhaps? (how did she get associated with tropical things, anyway? If anything, it should be Middle-Eastern stuff...)
Worst Old: Pretty much anything from the original Mario Kart (though I'm pointing my finger mostly at that one Boo track).
-
Well, many Middle-Eastern countries ARE located near the Meditterranean, which is tropical.
-
Though I haven't added the question yet (ShadowBrain), I am adding the question as:
10. What do you think is the worst new course? Worst retro course?
And my answer:
10. Probably Wario's gold mine (I don't like that course for some reason). For retro I'd say SNES ghost valley
Random, off topic question. Does anyone know why on my account it says I've only posted 56 messages when the time before that, it said I had posted 186 messages?
-
10. Worst new course: Moo Moo Meadows. It's so boring. Worst old course: Yoshi Falls. It's so boring.
I wish Yoshi had gotten a new course, or a better retro course. Such as Yoshi Valley. Same for Waluigi, save the whole new course thing. Such as Waluigi Pinball.
-
10. Worst new course: Moo Moo Meadows. It's so boring. Worst old course: Yoshi Falls. It's so boring.
QFT
Worst Old: Pretty much anything from the original Mario Kart (though I'm pointing my finger mostly at that one Boo track).
Interesting, I never played the original, yet I like the old tracks they picked. (Though I did play them in SC, which was the first Mario game I ever had) Sure, both of them are a little bland, but the excessive power sliding make it so fun!
-
10. Worst new course: Moo Moo Meadows. It's so boring. Worst old course: Yoshi Falls. It's so boring.
Yes!
For retro I'd say SNES ghost valley
Ah, that's the one I was thinking of.
-
1. Which do you prefer? Karts or bikes?
- Karts. At first I had problem with karts, but I got used to them and even got good at some when I switched to the GCN controller.
2. What is your opinion on how they (nintendo) made it so easy to go first to 12th place?
- Who cares? It's a game, not a life or death battle. I don't like losing anymore than anyone else, but if you are good enough to stay in front maybe something to level the playing field isn't so bad. Besides, they also include a way to go from 12th to first place.
3. Which is your favorite Mario Kart game?
- MKWii. The original on SNES was awesome, but lacked the replay of later iterations. I didn't play MK64 until VC. GCN was too easy, but maybe that was because of the GCN controller.
4. Which weight class do you prefer?
- Depends on what I'm doing. On the DS I preferred ultra light weight. In MKWii I've been using a heavy bike lately, but I have a lot more to unlock and have on completed a couple of ghosts.
5. What are some tracks from previous games that you wanted to see in MKWii?
- I'd have to go back and play other games because I can't think of anything off the top of my head. I recall really liking some DS tracks, but don't recall there names. I'd like to have seen some Excite Truck levels done with bikes. Do you think we'll see a 3D Excite Bike now that we've had Excite Truck and bikes in Mario Kart Wii?
6. Which new course do you think is the hardest?
- At first I thought Rainbow Road was the hardest, but now I'm not sure.
7. Which control scheme do you prefer?
- Can't beat the Wii Wheel for fun, but the GCN controller is a lot more precise. I see a lot of people playing with the Wheel online, but a quike look at the online leader boards shows that it's not a champ for best times. I'm better with the GCN controller and suspect that's common. For some reason the tilt controllers in Excite Truck seemed better to me than in MKWii. Maybe that's because ET was more about fun while MKWii has more rankings, driving scores, ghost races, tournaments, etc.
8. What is your favorite new course?
- The one in a city is fun to me. I don't remember what it's called or if it's new.
9. What is your favorite Retro Cup in MKWii?
10. What do you think is the worst new course? Worst retro course?
- I don't have a "worst" for courses, but the teams only battles is the worst of the whole game. It would have also been nice to have the DS challenge mode or whatever it was called.
BTW, this is a survey, not a poll.
-
Do you think we'll see a 3D Excite Bike now that we've had Excite Truck and bikes in Mario Kart Wii?
We did just a little over 8 years ago. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Excitebike_64)
-
Well yeah, but I meant on the Wii. Sorry, I should have been more clear with my question. Do you think that having Excite Truck and Mario Kart with bikes on the Wii lessens the likelihood of seeing a new Excitebike for the Wii?
-
Re-posting, new opinions.
1. Bikes. Unfortontley, I've lost my mastered MKDS skills and I am terrible at karts. I feel so ashamed.
2. Bad, I hate it. It makes me feel like I'm bad. However, I can tell I'm good because I've got over 100 more wins than looses in Wi-Fi.
3. Mario Kart 64. First Mario game I ever played in my life, and best too.
4. Middleweight, because it's pretty balanced in a good way.
5. Cheese Land, Cheep Cheep Beach (Which owns Shy Guy Beach BTW), Sunset Wilds.
6. Meh, none of them are hard. For me, Rainbow Road (hardest yet), and for Time Trials, Yoshi Falls. (Call me an idiot, will ya)
7. Classic Controller. I'm a little amused how the GCN controller is catching on so much, so I might give it a try.
8. Moonview Highway...
9. Actually, I like the Lightning Cup the best now.
10. New: Moo Moo Meadows
Worst: Yoshi Falls.
-
Well yeah, but I meant on the Wii. Sorry, I should have been more clear with my question. Do you think that having Excite Truck and Mario Kart with bikes on the Wii lessens the likelihood of seeing a new Excitebike for the Wii?
Excite Truck is generally Excitebike for the Wii. I predict the series won't see another game for two more generations. That's how the pattern seems to go, excluding remakes of Excitebike.
-
We did just a little over 8 years ago. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Excitebike_64)
I don't know why, but I had never even heard of that game until about a year ago... and I grew up in the SNES era.
-
1. Karts. I can determine turns way better and drifting in front of people and/or hitting bikes doing wheels are hilarious cuz they're like WHOA OMG and bikes lose balance and you lose your wheelie if hit, which is good.
2. Lame as all crap.
3. All of them, basically. SMK and 64 are a lot better than any in terms of actual skill in driving techniques and DEFINITELY **SENSE OF SPEED** I hate feeling like I'm crawling in MK:DD and MKWii even in 150cc. 150cc is about 2% faster feeling. Long straights suck with anything other than 150cc.
4. Mid. Although, I'm weird about who i use in games (like kart and party). For SMK I use Toad; MK64, Luigi; MK:DD, M&L, M&W, or the Koopas; and in MKWii I use Mario exclusively.
5. I dunno something cool.
6. None of them.
7. GCN controller, definitely. Screw the Wii Wheel.
8. Maple Treeway, Moonview Highway, and a few others.
9. Mario Circuit 3, Ghost Valley 2.
10. Worse new course.... Moo Moo Meadows, Coconut Mall, DK Summit (virtually the same as the GCN DK Mountain except a halfpipe and if they put a clone of that in the game why did they include the GCN version of it also, AND DK'S JUNGLE PARKWAY?!?!), Grumble Volcano, Dry Dry Ruins.
Worst retro course.... GCN Peach Beach (LAME), DS Yoshi Falls (LAME), GBA Shy Guy Beach, DS Delfino Square (Why not Waluigi Pinball?), GCN Waluigi Stadium (where's Wario Stadium instead?), DS Desert Hills (barely fun, Dry Dry Ruins is its clone), N64 DK's Jungle Parkway.
I have a lot of hates on their because they did a crappy job picking 80% of their retro tracks.
Someone also said Coconut Mall has the biggest jump in the series...... that is stupid. Peach Raceway had the most awesome, longest, and biggest jump in the series (EXCLUDING ALL THREE REPETITIVE BARREL CANNONS)... and it actually shot you out, instead of you flying up and coming down instantly after you were done boosting like MK:DD and Wii.
-
1. Bikes, because of the wheelies and its a nice change.
2. Its downright stupid! It makes me want to destroy all blue shells that much more.
3. A tie between MK64, MKDS, or MKDD.
4. Heavy.
5. The Waluigi's Pinball course from MKDS and Cheese Land from MKSC.
6. Rainbow Road.
7. Wii Wheel
8. Coconut Mall, Toads Factory, and Maple Treeway
9. DK's Jungle Parkway
10. Moo Moo Meadows, SNES Mario Circuit 3
-
Heres mine:
1. Bikes
2. I think that theres no problem in how hard they made the game
(probably because I always come in first in all of the cc's)
3. Mario Kart 64
4. Light weight is what I prefer
5. I think they should have put Yoshi's track in MK64 on special mode in the Wii version and Luigis Mansion track from MKDS.
6. Rainbow Road (they always make that course the hardest cause its the last one)
7. I like the wheel the best of course!! Who doesen't??
8. Mushroom Gorge (Maple Treeway is a very close second though)
9. Bowsers Castle from MK64 is my favorite retro track in MKWii
10. (Even though I liked all the new courses) Moo Moo Meadows is the worst new course. Mario Circut (SNES) was
worst retro (I didn't even like that one).
-
Why does everyone hate Mario Circuit 3? I mean, sure it's not fancy or anything, but you can really get some powersliding skizzls there.
-
I absolutely love Mario Circuit 3. Extremely fun road course. No gimmicks, just based off skill, especially when you have items turned off. Ghost Valley 2 I feel the same for.
