It seems that Nintendo is paying more attention to MK:SC. I mean, in MKW, the powersliding is clearly based after it. Also here is the rankings system (which MKDS stole from SC). What's next, Cheese Land?
-
Dude, Cheese Land was awesome. So was Ribbon Road.
I need to play MK:SC again today. (Partially because of the seeming absence of Mario Kart Wii I posses.)
-
The power sliding in MKSC was still infinitely more satisfying than in MKWii (and the sense of mass and momentum was much better as well). But the Wii installment is actually much more fun and cool than I was expecting.
Cheese Land and Ribbon Road are two of the best courses ever. They need revival.

Mega QFT.

I don't really understand the hype over Cheese Land, but Ribbon Road I could definitely understand.

1. It's on the moon
2. Thumping house music (sorta)

Fix'd.

Ribbon Road will never be seen again. Remember that extreme shortcut?
-
The shortcut was probably the first thing I noticed when I played on it.

Shortcut??

They could just modify it like they did with various other levels added to MK Wii. Note how you can't climb up the hill at the end of DK's Jungle Parkway anymore, and you have to go around.
-
Some of my people were enraged, enraged about that change.
-
I was fairly bothered by it too, I used to love that little shortcut.
-
I was very much like "D:<."
Toad: Before the first jump, there is a boost panel. Run over that, do the jump, but turn right so that you land where you should have after the second jump. You have skipped everything between the first and second jumps.
-
Oh wow, I haven't even played DKJP in MKWii yet but D:<
-
I opted to do the lap skip by going backwards at the start, and jumping through the left wall at the edge of the tunnel back in MK64.
So, D:<

That was the most memorable thing about the course.
-
...Next to jumping off the big hill with a mushroom and landing on the bridge.

I saw videos of that, but I never actually tried it. I'm going to hook up my N64 and test that out.
-
Also on DK's Jungle Parkway, they changed the big jump over the river.
-
At least now there's actually room to turn left from where you're intended to land.
-
Ribbon Road blew, especially on 150cc where all the CPUs hit the boost strips perfectly while you struggle to make sure you don't crash into a wall.
However, Cheese Land did indeed rule as well as Lakeside Park and Sky Garden.
-
Lakeside Park and Sky Garden are indeed awesome. But the whole awesome of Ribbon Road is perfectly hitting those boost pads. Doing it right is such a great thing.
-
They should have more courses from MK:SC in Mario Kart Wii.
Definitely.

The Green Party is gaining members!

I wasn't that big a fan of super circuit, something about it just didn't feel right. this could be due in part to intelligent systems co-developing it. it wasn't a BAD game infact it's my 4th favorite mario kart right behind super,64 and ds but i DID have a odd feeling to it even the guys over at retronauts felt it had a different vibe than past mario karts listen what they have to say here http://download.gamevideos.com/Podcasts/Retronauts/041008.mp3
-
Uh, you do realize that Intelligent Systems is an internal Nintendo development team like EAD, right?
-
They're "second-party", right?
-
Intelligent Systems? Bad?
They co-created the Paper Mario series, you know.
-
ShadowBrain: As I just said they are an internal Nintendo dev team. Not second-party.

After exploring that page for a while, I came across a thread on some forum of someone acquiring and then showing the innards of the SNES Emulator SE. Of course, he has to worship it first.
Here's the thread (http://assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7760).

Ah. I just thought those two terms were synonymous, that's all.
