Title: Skateboarding
Post by: megamush on June 10, 2008, 10:59:27 AM
I've been seeing more and more people using skateboards to get from place to place. I've seen people using them to get around a campus or just cruising around.

Me myself am one of those people that use a skateboard. I use a 39.5" x 9.375" Padang Longboard by Sector 9.

Does anyone else here use a skateboard or a longboard, if so what type of board do you use?

so I'm guessing no one here skateboards, or even cares about the sport.

Impatient Supreme!

I can't skateboard. It can be said, for many of the people around here...

There's only one reason people ride skateboards. To be watched.
There's only one reason people watch people ride skateboards. To watch them fall.

Of course, that's not all completely true.

I don't skateboard in fear of falling of and sustaining injury.

I skateboard every once in a while, I have an old dirty board I got at a garage sale, but I kinda want a longboard. those things are cool.

BP: I think I lot of people stake just for fun.

I usually stake to kill vampires and keep tents fastened to the ground.

I skate because, you know, you will die if you don't.

I skate. very well. I do the best skate. out of anyone I know. My favorite equipment to use is two analog sticks and an occasional trigger.

I skateboard sometimes, though I'm not good at it.

I don't have the body build or nerve for skateboard. Give me the good 'ol bicycle.

I'm a bike person meself. An acquaintance of mine is obsessed with skateboarding but he's a huge poser who only buys overpriced skating paraphernalia and always shows it off and talks to people about it but never actually skates and I don't want to show any interest because I don't want to give him the satisfaction.

This thread has inspired me to convince my friends that we must beat Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 for Nintendo 64 with every character. This is not a difficult challenge, but the difficulty lies in that we must collect all the tapes in, at most, 2 runs.

Each Monday night for the rest of summer, we are going to beat the game on a new character.

How exciting.

2 runs total? There are more than two courses, you know.

... In seriousness, I once got all the tapes in the warehouse at once, I know for sure.

Thus far, we have completed the game with everyone except for Geoff, Bucky, Andrew, and Jamie.

In one run, I have completed each course except fort the Streets of San Fransisco. That one is probably the hardest course in which to get all the tapes in one run because the secret tape is completely out of the way of S-K-A-T-E and the cop car tapes.

It won't stop me from trying though.

Hahahah! I didn't even notice I misspelled "skate" in my first post. I've been playing Tony Hawk's Pro Skater a lot lately, but I'll probably get burnt out on it again and not play it for months, and so on. I've already beaten the game several times, but I never get tired of free skate.

THPS is boss. I've also cleared the whole Warehouse in one shot.

I was playing the Dreamcast port of THPS, and I got really frustrated with it. I like THPS2 way more.
