Who do you like to play as in Super Mario Bros. 2/USA?
I like Peach because of her floating ability.

Here's a breath of fresh air, I'd say. Nice topic.
I like to play as Luigi. His jumping ability is amazingly good, which sort of makes him cheep (and thus the easiest character to play as). I don't like playing as Toad, but he's great for people who like a challenge.

Overall I'd have to say Peach, for the floating. Toad is really close behind, though. Makes it a much faster-paced game. Luigi's a lot of fun too, though, especially on levels that are all in the sky.

Mario.
Being Luigi or Peach makes the game way too easy, and Toad's jump is just too dang low.

Luigi. Sure, he can be a little hard to handle at first. But once you do, he can be a beast.

Am I the only guy who switches characters for certain levels or what?

I love Toad's INCREDIBLE LIFTING POWER. I can deal with his poor jump everywhere except 4-2, where I use Peach.

Wait, this wasn't a thread before? Well, either way, first time I've seen it, so... good idea.
Well... it's hard to say. Generally, it's a tie for me between Luigi and his awesome jump and Peach's glide. Probably Luigi, if only because, hey, he's Luigi.

Toad for the early levels (worlds 1 and 2), Peach/Toadstool for the middle of the game (worlds 3 to 5), and Mario for the remainder of the game.
I avoid Luigi like the plague, due to that jump of his...

I use Peach for the floating ability. Gives me some extra time to decide where I want to land, if anything. Somehow it never made me think "wait, I'm deciding to play a girl in this game?"

Princess Toadstool as her flying ability really makes the game easier Mario and Luigi were quite good too. (Toad was just pointless)
