It's painfully true. My school has three and a half black attendees, and I can't recall ever having engaged in conversation with an indivdual of African descent outside of school.

In a word, yes. However, it should be noted that there are two Arabs in Canada for every African-American in the United States. I would mention that they're just coming in by the planeload these days, but that's politically incorrect, so I won't mention it.
