If that's the case, then I guess it's safe to assume that Knuckles, Tails, and Eggman are Mario characters since they are in a game with Mario characters on the box.

I just loved how Brawl represented this Sonic person as being a rival of sorts to Mario, with his main feature being how fast he is referencing his origin in the athletic game.

Apparently Snake isn't too fond of Mario Sports games and doesn't recognize him as a "big star" like Otacon. That weeaboo fool will buy anything made in Japan, I swear...

You said Mario character, not Mario game character. He's a Mario comic character, that falls under the category of Mario character.

When I read this my mind combined both statements to say "If it was favorite Mario species, Ninjis would be way up there. Waluigi's pretty high up there too."

DK isn't technically a mario character because all of his games(except the original arcade games) don't even have a reference to Mario

Have you even played DKC2? Mario (and Yoshi) make a cameo in that game,,,,

Also, if DK isn't a Mario character, why does DK appear in every Mario Kart/Party/Sports game?
