Long overdue thread probably, but there didn't seem to be a reason to make it when there weren't new episodes airing. So now that season two has premiered, discuss. Would be nice if we could keep the most recent episode's spoilers tagged accordingly, by the way.
I like how Pinkie Pie wants to keep the chocolate rain, and expect an appropriate PMV very soon.
I also like how Discord couldn't actually tempt Fluttershy to stop being kind and had to force the change magically.
I didn't like how Pinkie Pie's un-harmonized state didn't give her back her straight hair. Kind of a missed opportunity there.
Come on, I know for a fact I'm not the only person here who likes the show.

The channel is called The Hub - every Saturday at 9:00 AM for new episodes. It's currently in its second season as of earlier today.
The entire first season can be found fairly easily for streaming on the Internet, but I'm not sure forum rules allow me to get any more specific than that.

Poor Spike. Poor Big Macintosh (except not really).

Well, based off of the massive internet response, I decided to give the show a run. I'm not a very picky person. Just give me a decent plot (stop snickering) and likeable characters and I'm usually good to go. I've watched the first nine episodes so far, and I have to say, I enjoyed it. Yeah, there are plenty of points (like Pinkie's song in episode 2) where I was reminded who the intended audience is, but it really is an enjoyable show. Lauren Faust has a good mind for comedy, considering her resume.

About MLP FiM, I'm not into the show itself but I think the culture that streams from it (Fan art/music/memes) has left a rather nice impact on the internet. I 100% support the pony fandom.

Yeah, this episode was great. We got to find out that Dash is an even bigger jerk than anyone thought, and a animal abuser, almost getting them eaten alive and killed in a "game". It's completely unfair that the falcon lost to a cheap technicality. "Oh, but it didn't save her!" Do you think Rainbow Dash was going to go back and help any of the animals in the course that almost died? The bat was almost eaten, and she wouldn't have even known. The falcon almost had to rip off its wings to get out of the briars. Do you think RD cared?
I'm going to pretend this episode doesn't exist. F*** you Tank.

I love this show...I like Rainbow Dash the best, and I hate Twist. Twist's cutie mark shouldda been a rope and stool.
This last episode was not the greatest but I wouldn't say it was the worst...I disliked Owl's Well That Ends Well more.

Yeah I know.....if it bothers you, I didn't mean to imply that I hated her "the most," she was just in my mind since I saw Cutie Pox recently and I thought I'd give my opinion on her (I should have phrased it better). Of the mane six, I suppose my least favorite is Rarity, though it's by a slim margin since I like them all. Of the CMCs, Sweetie Belle is my least favorite while Scootaloo is my favorite.

My little sister loves this show, even went out and bought a Rainbow Dash for her desk at home.

To be fair, I don't think that's the implication.
To add to the discussion, I usually watch with my little sister, whilst I don't watch much else besides PL's Nic Cage/Harry Partridge dub... which is still hilarious to me. I do have an appreciation for the show, although not as enthusiastically as "True Bronies," haha.

Not sure if I'm a brony or not. Just because I've watched every episode of the show, want my friends to watch it, watched some episode commentaries, like the fan music, am waiting impatiently for season 3, took a picture with a young woman with a MLP backpack, donated to the bronycon documentary to see my name in the credits, and wore a brony bracelet when out of state doesn't necessarily mean... oh who am I kidding? What's happened to me?! *fake cries* lol
In all seriousness, I'm not sure if I need to label myself something for liking a good show. I guess I can understand since it's still weird to many people who first hear about it and giving yourself a name kind of makes you feel like you're part of a group. (And it's too bad every fandom has to have "those people" you don't want to talk about) But I like trying new things and this was something that I ended up liking after adjusting to the girlyness and added to my list of other interests like Mario. :) I'm also trying to get into Adventure Time but it's just too darn weird for my tastes, sorry. My favorite cartoons are those that are funny, random, and witty and aren't dumbed down. What really made me smile was when I learned that the voice actress for Twilight was also the same for Timmy Turner of the Fairly Odd Parents, my second favorite cartoon. (I watched an episode today and laughed through all of it)
Finally, I also have mild autism but don't think that plays a part in my liking it. I enjoy many kinds of shows, animated or rea life (though I don't really watch much TV), and don't feel like less of a man because I don't like shows with a lot of violence. Final final note... I hope Vinyl Scratch gets her own episode in season 3! Not likely but let me dream.

My DVR hasn't been recording the new season which expect is due to a conflict or a mistaken setting. Also, same thing with Doctor WHO unless it hasn't started yet. I love Verizon internet, but their TV/DVR leave much to be desired. (Wish I had an HD TiVo!)

I didn't feel Season 2 was necessarily inferior to S1, but I did notice something. It seemed....I dunno, "louder" in a sense than S1, if that makes sense...I dunno. It didn't have something that S1 had. Like a quiet innocence or something.
Of course, this might largely be because they dropped the "e/i" standard. And considering when the second season was being worked on, for the most part they weren't even trying to cater to bronies aside from adding in Derpy (and maybe Colgate/Minuette with the Nightmare Night costume that was of a dentist, apparently)...I think.
But now not only is S3 "e/i"-less (not to mention completely Faustless; at least S2 had her as some kinda consultant or something), but now I wonder if they may try to sneak in more and more winks, nudges and handjobs to bronies.
Hey, remember that 'pony-licious' meme that bronies LOVED? Let's shoehorn it into this show somewhere....hurr hurr hurr...and let's give Trixie an annoyingly obvious love of pine cones a coltfriend named Seth...they'll be a-hootin' and a-hollerin'! Also, Rainbow Dash making a joke using the word "plot" that doesn't sound sexual, but bronies will know what she really means huh huh wink wink ;) ;)

Did anyone here watch the latest episode when it leaked early? I watched it only hours ahead of the scheduled airing time.
Anyway, about the episode:
I liked it, but I wonder about something...
First, when Dash clipped her wing because they both couldn't make it down toward the red flag, did Dash have to go down there too?? Sure, the teams weren't allowed to "split apart," but I took that to mean just don't go off and leave the other behind. If Dash could just have waited right there above the pit where the flag was while Lightning Dust nabbed it, she wouldn't have gotten hurt. Surely Dash waiting above would NOT have counted as "splitting apart" since the flag was right there.
Also, where was Soarin'? Did he make an appearance? If he did I certainly didn't catch it. Maybe he was let go for harassing Spitfire and making inappropriate "pie" jokes.
Poor Dashie, she was probably looking forward to being harassed by the sexy Wonderbolt. I know *I* wouldda been.

No but in all seriousness, I don't see why everyone is worked up about this. MLP: FiM's INTENDED audience (regardless of who actually watches it) is little girls. Little girls like princesses. It makes perfect sense for them to make a pony princess, as it might attract more little girls to watch the show. So, really, you can get mad, but you have to remember who the show is aimed at.

My chemistry teacher is a brony who has MLP-related doodads in his room and when he writes directions on the board, he does it under a header (or however I should phrase it) saying "Princess Luna Says..." and there's picture of fanart or whatever of Princess Luna directly above that. He uses his YouTube account to show us videos in class, and one time when we saw his homepage it had an MLP related video on it. He also plays an MLP fansong to subtly insult this one kid who acts dumb a lot. He also runs the anime club and I think the reason I dig him so much is because I'm pretty sure he spills/spilled in high school about as much spaghetti as I do on a regular basis.
