Title: Wii mode on Wii U connection?

When I got my Wii U I transferred my Wii VC games to it.  For the first time today I tried to play one of them.  As I expected the SD card files won't load so I tried going to the shop to redownload them, but the system had an error and would never connect.  The Wii U connects fine, but not in Wii mode.  So, I click the little button on the bottom left to see the connection settings (as I recall was the procedure on the Wii), but all it gave me was options for the SD card and system memory.  Where can I change/setup the connection?  BTW, I'm using a wired connection.

The Wii-U settings in Internet is where you set-up wii connections and wii-u connections.
