What's the official name of the 'Fire Thing' in the castle stages of Super Mario Bros. and The Lost Levels? Not the Podoboo, but the Fire that spins in a 360 degree angle.
This has been driving me crazy, because I've been writing a walkthrough (which I just completed-yay!) and just decided to come up with my own name. If anyone knows, you *must* post it! Thanx.

Firewand? And where did you get this information?
-
I always call it a Fire Bar...
Mama mia! It''s-a me, Mario Maniac!
-
Yeah, it's a Firebar. . .

OK, I pressed the profile sig button. What? It doesn`t show my sig? That`s not fair!

That's great and all, but all I'm interested in is what the official name Nintendo calls it (maybe they might have used the term in one of their strategy guides or via NP)
-
They call it a firebar in Paper Mario, one of the things Russ T. says is about firebars.
-
"Russ T?" More info here, please.
And I haven't played Paper Mario. Do they show the name of it in the insturction booklet or is it in the game only? I could probably get the Paper Mario booklet and read it for myself..

Firebars, fire chains, or fire lines. Researched through every guide book on GameFAQ's. But it doesn't say on the site. I looked on their FAQ's and they didn't have it. Oh well. Those are my answers, so far.

Well it seems that NP may have called them "Fire Bars" according to someone I talked with recently. And thanks for the time you spent trying to find the answer, Link.

Russ T is some genious mushroom guy in paper mario who tell you stuff when you talk to him. one of the things he says is, "Watch out for the firebars in the volcano on Lavalava Island. I heard there is some way to defeat them, but I don't know how"
It's not a matter of optimism or pessimism, it's a matter of common sense! (half empty or half full?)
