Title: Why is Mario paper?

I haven't played Paper Mario yet, so I was wondering, how and why did Mario and everyone else get turned into paper?

They don't get turned in to paper... in fact paper has nothing to do with the storyline. everything is just paper when you start out.... no one even seems to notisce there made out of paper.. they just are......
ask someone else for the story line i dont feel like typing that much... ask red_ninja_koopa he loves that game!! im shure he would be happy to answer all your questions

I love that game too. it is my second favorite game, smb3 is first. but any way I guess you could say it is a joke that they are paper, like nintendo did that for a little laugh, and kept it that way. and you should try it, it is real fun I play it all the time. I would play smb3 mor3e but I don't have it.

he is paper because they wanted a 2-D character in a 3-D world. silly, yes?
