Okay, when Mario 2 first came out, it said in the manual that Birdo is a boy that thinks he is a girl. When it was rereleased, it no longer said that in the book. Now, SMA is realeased, and Birdo isnow a "she." Is Nintendo nuts or is Birdo supposed to be both genders?!

two theories:
1. birdo was a girl the whole time, but just happened to not be wearing a bow during SMB2.
2. birdo was a boy in SMB2, but in SMA, a female birdo took the place of the male birdo that died in SMB2 after being hit with eggs
and don't pay attention to the manual, they confused birdo with ostro
There''s something very disturbing about Goompapa...

Although Birdo is a better name, Ostro was "it's" offical name. It even said in the game at the credits. It said on enemy description that "It thinks its a girl, and it would rather be called Birdetta". People just called it Birdo for short, and eventually Nintendo thinks they know everything now, but they're killing classics! Her name was Ostro and he was a boy, but now "she" is Birdo and is a girl. What's up wit' dat?
