Title: A thought I had
Post by: TRM04 on June 22, 2000, 06:16:58 AM
In SMW you have baby Yoshis in every color but green.  I wonder if there is some way to get a baby green Yoshi like the one Mario is holding in the SMW players guide.

Unfortunately, no.  I love those little guys, it's too bad they grow up.

Yeah, but when they grow up, they will kick more Koopa butt.

The reason for that is that green yoshi's have no special power like the red{fire} blue{fly}or yellow{earth}, so the programmers felt there was no reason to make a powerless version of the Green variety.

There is a way to get the small yoshi to be green, but it requires hex hacking in Unix mode (don't ask).

coocoo, coocoo, coco?

You told me not to ask, but...

Unix mode?  Surely you can't access a Unix OS on the SNES.  You must be referring to ROM hacking on a PC.

Actually, to change Baby Yoshi's color to green, all it would take is a little palette editing...
