The other day, I saw the Super Mario Sunshine television commerical. It was completely different from the way you guys described it! It just showed various gameplay elements in the game: the abilities of Mario's water tank, the different environments in the game, etc.
I liked the footage I saw! The game was moving very smoothly--no loss of framerate and plenty of detailed animation. The commercial was a great way to add even more hype to an already-anticipated game!
My prediction:
Super Mario Sunshine will immediately sell out once it is released on August 26! I can't wait!

Nintendo is like a religion to me, and Shigeru Miyamoto is the God of it.
A world without Nintendo is a world without videogames.
Congratulation''s Nintendo, for over 25 years of videogame excellence!

That's the new version. Elusive, ain't it? I'd still have to say that they're both good commercials. So dere.

Ok, I was playing Halo the day before I saw it last (third time playing Halo, fourth time on an Xbox). I was thinking: "Get an Xbox, get an Xbox." Then I saw the SMS commercial (apparantly the new one, since it matches Mario Maniac's description). Then I was thinking: "Screw Xbox! Get a GameCube!"
Mario, Mario, Mario! What happened to Mr. Andretti?

Why would you even think of wanting an XBoX?
