I know there are some guitar tabs on this site, but I think you guys mean piano notes. As for those, I don't know.

Chupperson Weird, if you can play by ear, get Finale NotePad free of www.codamusic.com, and experiment.

I have already started the SMB theme song,
If you have a finale product like notepad, print music, allegro, or finale, and you want me to send it to you send me an email at Saxophonekevin@yahoo.com!

The only thing that will be difficult is the harmonies... they change a lot...
Title: Re: Mario Music Sheets
Post by: Maestro on September 20, 2002, 11:53:31 PM
I plan on making songs from certain games.
So the first one I make should be the harmony from the original SMB overworld theme.

There's many different parts of the song played at once. Remember the music room in Luigi's Mansion? If you turn on only one instrument, you'll see that all the instruments switch from background to frontground.

If anyone wants the melody and harmony(no baseline) to SMB theme, let me know.
It was edited with Print Music.

Sweet! I can make a Trumpet part to play the castle theme from YI!!! Of course, the Trumpet doesn't play the castle theme from YI...

But it does now! MUHAHAHAHA

I respect your post. As long as you don''t insult my intelligence in it.

I realized something... You only get 64 counts, unless you can change it... that 21 measures for my 3/4 YI song!

And that the tempo cannot be changed. The tempo is far too slow for the YI Castle song.

to add measures, click the measure tool, then click the measure menu, then add.
To change tempo, on the playback controls, there should be a  white box with the BPM in it.  click up or down to change tempo.

Imagine a band recession of Rainbow Road, with solos of all instruments.  Anyway, a 1st B# Clarinet book of the best Mario tunes would be greatly appreciated.

A band recession?! What in the Mushroom World is that?
...Yeah, this is cool! Who knew so many of us played instruments? I play volin, piano, guitar, drums, and other various instruments...

I can play any woodwind.  Saxophone is just my main.  But who knew this many people had time for music and video games.

Heh, it isn't that hard. Get home at 3, go to bed at 11. (Of course, I am also on the varsity swim team, so I don't get home until almost 6...)

Anyway, thanks! I got the measures and tempo required for the YI castle theme (I am thinking 176BPM...?) And now I gotta add the bass line and percussion... (This may be a while...)

I played the Mario theme PERFECT on my flute in School Band. There was this one kid with a trumpet that always got the notes wrong high and off.

I have to know so much about every game... I can't know or remember everything! BACK OFF, PAL!

Ok, my new project is a Trombone, Trumpet, and Flute trio part for playing Bowser's theme from Tetris Attack... (The Flute is needed near the end of the loop) NO, I can't get the percussion down, nor will I try. It is kinda right but kinda wrong (I don't think I even have it in the right key lol...) But I can't figure out some parts. The Trumpet part requires wicked articulations though (Triple tounging likely) and it doesn't play the melody most of the time (The trombone does). I don't ever intend on playing it, just trying to arrange it on a free computer music program.

As you can all tell, I have WAY too much free time.

I am still working on minute details with the SMB theme, but I have started the Mario Golf Main Menu theme.  It seems to be much easier to hear all of the parts.

I was just thinkin', we can get some tabs from the tablature section, and we can (at least I can) use that to write the music, since I play guitar...

I read this and thought I'd mention a few things.

1. Some dude (Brian) posted a few complete Mario songs on this board a while back...migh t take a while to find but it had SMB Overworld Theme and Dr. Mario Fever in piano and orchestral form.

2.It's good to see so many Mario music maniacs (alliteration is fun, kiddies).

3.I once brought speakers and my MP3 player to my piano lesson and my teacher told me the notes for the (US) Mario 2 Overworld theme. Now I can play that ph4t rag note-for-original-note. I think it's the best Mario song ever...too bad it's not really from Mario. :(

Wherefore speakest thou thus?
It's really from Mario NOW... even if Koji Kondo didn't compose it... You wouldn't be able to put that on some sheet music for us, would you?

Hmm, just today I was considering giving my school's music department some Mario music. I don't play, but I can hear the music classes playing while I'm in art class. Art is a quiet class, so I figured it'd be good to have a familiar tune to listen to. ^_^ Maybe the Forest Maze music from SMRPG, I think that's got enough different instruments in it...I used to play the trumpet, but I sucked at it. I had a hard enough time with Celine Dion songs, never mind video game music. Hey, know what'd really rock? The Hyrule Temple theme from SSBM!

"Like the moon over
the day, my genius and brawn
 are lost on these fools."
       -Bowser, SMRPG

Sometimes I dream about being carried off by a giant squirrel...Does that make me a nut?

Yeah, but it rocks only when played by the SSBM orchestra... unless you're really, really good.

I play piano and trumpet and figure out a lot of Mario themes.  I would give anyone any theme.  One prolem though...I can't get a scan of it and I don't have any music-making software.  But If I get my scanner to work, I'll find any theme for anybody!

So far I've found (with accompanyment)
-SMB theme
-Underground theme
-Water theme
-SMB castle
-SMB2 theme
-SMB2 credits
-SM64 credits
-SMW theme
-Octopus theme (from Game&Watch Gallery 1)

All these are my own arrangements.  I can transpose to other keys for different instruments to.
So as soon as I get my scanner working (or a music-making software) I'll give anyone any given theme.
