Title: Mario Jumper?

I remember years ago playing a game on the original Nintendo where Mario runs across stages with Goombas as obstacles, and to make Mario jump you shot at him with the Zapper gun.  Does anyone know what I'm talking about?  I can't find this game in any list of "Mario" games.  It may not have been Mario and those may not have been Goombas and it wasn't a "Mario" game at all but I remember pretty clearly that it was Mario running across a flat "Overworld" area with fences and bushes and fluffy clouds in the background and Goombas walking in the opposite direction like in the original "Super Mario Bros."

Are you sure it wasn't a Super Scope game? I remember faintly something of that variety on the SNES.

This was before Super N.E.S. existed.

It might be Gumshue. I'm not sure, since I've only seen screenshots.
