Title: The REAL console debate... No technical specs.
Post by: Mario Maniac on January 16, 2003, 09:43:46 AM
PS2 is king of consoles. That may probably never change as long as Nintendo GameCube and Xbox continue to struggle.

The real battle is between Nintendo and Microsoft. The oldest most-talented, video games developer VERSUS the newest least-talented, video games developer.

In case you may not have noticed, Nintendo builds the success of their consoles based on their 1st-party franchises: Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, Metroid, etc. Nintendo is not known for a good amount of 3rd-party support. Most gamers who have Nintendo systems only keep them for the 1st-party Nintendo-made games.

Microsoft is trying to copy the strategy of Sony, using a heaping support of 3rd-party developers to make games that will appeal to all gamers. This seems to be working for now, though they are still light-years away from the success that Sony has. Sega has supported Xbox since the beginning, though they are now starting to broaden their horizons towards other platforms PS2 and GameCube... Other once-exclusive Xbox developers are also going to other platforms as well, which means bad news for Microsoft.

PS2
Gamecube
Ibox

That's how they are in a list of most money to least.

Ibox is not fairing that well (HOORAY!)

Nintendo is getting tons of third-party support this time around. Sega and Namco, just to name a couple...

And PS2 is dying. Slowly, but surely.

Im being mean to Xbox & PS2 now....
Dont buy Xbox cause they can fall on you & kill you if theyre put in a high place.
If anyone says PS2 is the best at school, ask them what a CHALLENGING video game is.

Do you know when we die,we''ll be boos too?

"And PS2 is dying. Slowly, but surely."

The pace will quicken.

Then, finally, aaahhhhhhh . . . . . Microsoft will tumble. The company, in a failed attempt to rule the world, will entirely collapse under its own weight.

Bad features of the Xbox:
Xbox freezes, it's too big and heavy, it has a terrible lineup of 1st-party games (made by Microsoft), and the third-party support is drying up like a washed up jellyfish on a hot summer day!

How can PS2 be dying? Look at the huge amount of success it is still recieving. It is way ahead of GameCube in overall sales...

More popularity = more sales = more money = more success!

"the third-party support is drying up like a washed up jellyfish on a hot summer day!"

Nice.

Look at it. Overall sales don't mean a thing. If GCN had been released at the same time as PS2, Sony would only be winning by a small margin, if winning at all. Just about everybody that's going to own a PS2 already has one. The sales are gonna dry up like Xbox's third-party support.
Also, like I was saying somewhere... almost all of the third-party companies that develop for Sony are also developing for Nintendo. PS2 will perish. Ah hahahahaaAA!!!

I talked to . . . a Nintendo official today. He told me that Nintendo is doing just fine. He wasn't worried about the competition (PS2 and Xbox). And he was telling the truth.
(If you knew the specifics of the situation, then you would also know that he was being truthful. Unfortunately, I may not give those specifics.)

PS2 is not the king of consoles. It is winning because it was released first and because most teenagers don't know what GOOD video games are.

Mom:Honey, what is that loud sound? Me:Uh, nothing, Mom! *goes back to smashing X-Box*

Xbox is just a computer but the T.V. is the Monitor.
