Any tips on hitting the sandbag very far in the Home Run Contest and getting secret trophies?

Two words: Use Roy.

Use his Smash Up+A Attack and charge it again when sandbag comes back down.  Hit him three times and charge your B attack for the remaining time.  This takes MAJOR practice but it's worth it.  I sent 'em over 1500 ft.

Pfft.  1500 feet is nothing.
It's all about Yoshi.  Just use his flutter kick to rack up damage.  My best to date is 2200.
