Title: Gamer's Haven Inc.
Post by: Mario Master on June 05, 2003, 09:45:35 AM
For those of you who are not in the Gamer's Haven crew, you'll have no idea what we are talking about.  Check our website for updates and other stuff, but for right now it's just a black page.

Ok guys!  I set up this message board so we can talk about our new site.  I was thinking that instead of making just games, I thought a couple of walkthrus and other stuff would be cool.  Stuff like sprites, animations, a few comics, etc.  I think we should actually work on the game thing as a group.  BTW, I need the password for the site e-mailed to me, Yoshi6.  You need to send it to everyone in Gamer's Haven Inc.  I know a lot of HTML, so I'll be able to program most of the website for everyone (including a secret message board).  Anyway, lets get started on our first thing.  We should start by making everything with the website, then adding the files.  Ok!  Let's get started!

If I had a dime for every time someone called me forgetful, I''d... um... What were we talking about again?

Sweet. ;)
I'm not very good with HTML, but I have TONS of images--sprites, renders, screenshots, you name it--that I can provide.

Here's Mario so far on our game...
Lemme see if this works...

Ack! It's broken.

Yeah, I got them and I have winzip.  They're pretty cool, but what are they for?

BTW, I read a funny article not to long ago.  I live in Florida, and a little while ago we were electing somebody something.  That somebody's name was Jeb Bush.  Anyway, this lady who was from some other country came to Florida.  To help the election along, we put up signs that said: "Jeb!"  We'll, in this lady's language, Jeb meant the f-word...  She was pretty insulted.

Hm... What's so far fetched that wouldn't be able to be done? You've struck my curiosity. That is, of course, if anyone doesn't mind telling me.

I also forgot to ask, Why exactly does everyone need to know the password? From what I understand, only those who will be editing and creating the Webpage need it, no? It would seem irrational to hand out the said password to "everyone," even everyone in the 'crew'.

TMK and other Mario/Nintendo sites has most of the stuff you guys are making.  So, what will be different about this site?  How about playable games like the ones Deezer took off of TMK?  Maybe a choose your own Mario adventure complete with images, inserted viewer names and items, and images?  That would be cool.

So can different people work on the site, or do I have to put stuff on my own site or send it to you.

If you need help or like my suggestion let me know.  I know a lot of HTML, some javascript and can edit images.

Hey, I don't mean to interrupt whatever you're talking about, but I read the first post and you said that you can take animations. I have some 1-min long animations! The graphics are those of Paint and they are made on Windows Movie Maker. They are too big to download now-they'll never go through to you. I was wondering if you knew of any program that compresses movie files. I need it!
I will help provide stuff for the website anytime! I have super-fast Internet and I can get a whole bunch of stuff!

Hey, guys! Right now I'm working on a li'l link banner for the site.  It's done except for the site's name. I have a question:

Should it be "Gamer's Haven"--singular gamer
or "Gamers' Haven"--plural gamers?

We want this to be grammatically correct, right? That's why I'm asking. ;)

From a strictly grammatical view, "Gamers' Haven" is correct. It's not only one Gamer you're talking about.

However, Mario Master, I believe you named it, and so, your final say.

How does "Gamer's Haven" look cooler? They seem the same to me, just one with incorrect grammar. No offense, but is incorrect grammar uncool? Perhaps, but it makes you seem more intelligent.  Seriously, I'm not referring to anyone in particlular, so please don't take offense to this. :)

If you need any help let me know.  I have used Geocities since before it was owned by Yahoo!  I also know a lot of HTML and some JavaScript.  I suggest you learn a little HTML and not depend on the Yahoo! Geocities Page Builder too much.

Does anyone know where I can get full versions of the folling programs cheap?  (Don't say eBay.)

- DarkBASIC Pro
- Photoshop 8
- C++

While I don't condone theft, I do know that you can get some of those programs for free, easily.

If you use, Kazaa, you can find Photoshop 8 and Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 for sure. I wouldn't doubt you could find the others either. Just be sure to check for viruses and to get a crack/serial number if they aren't included.

Feh, it all depends on if you're against downloading such utilities.

Also, Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 is a great compiler.

Well, on Geocities, the free one, the Webpage builder program only allows you to put in text and the pictures. Is there a way you can put music in your site? Like MIDI files?
Title: Re: Gamer's Haven Inc.
Post by: Luigison on June 10, 2003, 08:59:13 PM
Yes, jon, you can use music in geocities.  There is a way with page builder, but I haven't used it in a long time.  I think it has a place where you put in the url of the sound.  I will check when I have more time.  You could alway post the actually HTML for the midi or whatever.

Okay, votes, people! Gamer's Haven--gamer singular (and incorrect grammar) or Gamers' Haven--gamers plural (and correct)?

Gamer's:  2 (Mario Master and jon)
Gamers':  2  (Black Mage--I think--and me)

I know, why don't you just get rid of the 's' completely and it will look like "Gamer Haven". The title means that it's, well, it's hard to explain.
Or, you just can continue with the voting.
Title: Re: Gamer's Haven Inc.
Post by: Luigison on June 10, 2003, 09:19:09 PM
If you know how to use sound file with HTML you can put as many sound, midis, etc. on you page as you want.  To do it with HTML in page builder: click 'insert' > 'forms and scripts' > HTML code.

Or, if all you want is some background music: 'insert' > 'basic' > 'background music.

In both cases you will have to upload the sound files first.  Or, use them off of another site, but most people don't like you stealing their bandwidth.

To be honest, is the site gonna be about just Mario games? 'Cuz if so, saying "Gamer" seems a bit too broad. I know we already have a domain name and all, but why not give it a Mario-related name?

Suggestion: Star Haven?

I was thinking about Star Haven for my site name, but then that would be like copying from you.
Heyyyy.....now that I just noticed it, this topic thingy here says "Gamer's Haven Inc."! That means that it's the apostrophe before the s! Oh, and both ways are grammatically correct: the way you say it is correct because it means more then one person and the way I say it is for one person.
Oh, and Luigison, the Geocities program it gives me doesn't allow me to upload ANY music! Only certain pictures/gifs and text documents. Maybe that's the way a free site goes...

Hmm...we're not there yet.
It's ALWAYS best to name titles *AFTER* the whole thing--be it story, game, song, etc--is completed. Otherwise, you'll be restricted to the limitations of it fitting to the title. --and if not, the title would tend to not fit the key point of the work.

--Yes, but the "Club 86'" thread title is incorrect, too. That doesn't make it correct. We all know it's really "Club '86," but there's nothing we can do to fix the title of the thread.

"Sapphira, you should be an editor for an newspaper-you know that?"

lol. Actually, I think I *would* make a good editor, if I were interested in that area.
Heheheh...a couple weeks ago my dad even had me proof-read his résumé...just because it never hurts to have another person's eyes to catch any mistakes. He usually proof-reads my writing assignments for school.

Anyway, luckily I shall have my chance to put my editing skills (:D), artistic, organizing layout, and photographic skills to use--Yearbook, baby!! Yeah!! Woohoo!! (Besides, I'm ALWAYS disappointed with SOMETHING in the yearbooks each year, so now's my chance to do something about it!! Yay!! ;)  )

Hey the site looks good so far! It's coming along! We're gonna need a Navigation bar--preferably on the left-hand side. Here are some sections we can make:

Site Stuff

  About [donations, FAQs, etc]
  Staff
  Contact
  Mailbag
  Forums

Games
-----
Walkthroughs
(Etc-more can be added)

Sprites
Screenshots
Wallpapers
Music
Sounds

-----------

Comics
Artwork
Fan Fiction

Affilates (which'll actually be posted w/in the Nav Bar)

These are just some suggestions for it.

Hey, a bit of advice for ye "Gamers' Haven" folk:

Microsoft, the evil entity that they are, are always pushing their campaign to remove compatability with old, ineffecient, or non-Microsoft devices, programs, and file types; their hope is to crush everything non-Microsoft with their market prowess.
Anyway, so far in this campaign, newer Microsoft products no longer support 8-bit color, resolutions below 640x480, most DOS-based programs, all Netscape-based plugins, and, for some reason, bitmaps.

Suffice to say:  if you want maximum viewability of your site, I'd suggest you use a file format other than bitmaps.

Go Moon!

Piece of advice: certain things (like screenshots from SNES/GBA or lower)--with less amounts of colors--look better in Gif format. Stuff with LOTS of colors, i.e. N64 or higher and renderings, looks best in JPG format.

Also, unless you have Paint Shop Pro or something similar (and know how to use it), if you change a bitmap into a gif or jpg, the image will become distorted.

We should probably convert them as soon as you receive it--that way we won't have to worry about it later.

I can only convert stuff to PGN format, until I get Paint Shop Pro. When the site's up again, can you convert my comic--ep. 2 into Gif format for me? With PGN it takes up 56 KB--vs. 14 KB in gif form.
Marionut's comics, which are about 350 KB each, will be GREATLY reduced, probably like to 7 KB.

PageBuilder *IS* really inconvienient. But then again, so is HTML.

But seriously, Mario Master, we need to make a navigation bar--preferably on the left-hand side. Definitely NOT frames; I hate frames. A Nav bar like TMK's and most other good websites.
A few pages back, I made a list of the stuff we can put in the nav bar. Our current layout seems inefficient and unprofessional.

Oh, and another thing, can we PLEASE take the music off all the pages? I like the music and all a LOT, but I absolutely HATE websites that play music--and then you have to turn it off. Seriously, why don't we set up a midi page, where people can listen to it there? Honestly, music playing in the background on any website seems unprofessional and is frankly a turn off.

I would do all this stuff myself, but I don't know how.

Oh, jon, yes, we have more people working on it, but with one person making a site, you can go a LOT faster 'cuz you don't have to consult the others and talk about it--you can just do what you want, when you want.

The same goes for making a game, I can just edit this and that without anyone's consent. I can see why updates are so scarce - because there's four of you anm\d everyone needs to agree on an update before it happens, and most often at least one of you would be gone or something. And there's a common saying, "Too many cooks spoil the broth".

Oh yeah, you need a game for your empty games page? Cuz' I got one for ya . A fairly good one too, that is, if your computer runs it perfectly. You should know which one I'm talking about; I've posted it all over the forums.

"Oh, and another thing, can we PLEASE take the music off all the pages?"

I'm glad someone said something. I didn't want to be the one to suggest that. But yes, the midis playing on every page is quite annoying, and even more unprofessional. But, seeing as it isn't my site, and my opinion wasn't asked, I figured it best not to say anything.

Having a Solid layout is the key to having a great website. While I generally agree, frames are a bad move, Sapphira’s suggestion is well worth looking into.

However, I do like the sort of "Friendly" look the site has currently. Sure, it does look a bit amateurish, but until you guys can get a solid layout, it will hold the fort. :)

Boy, after re-reading that, it sounds kinda self-righteous. Actually, I must sound that a lot. I digress, I don't mean it in such a manner.

But if you have a nav that appears on every single page, if your site gets big wnough, you'd have to add it to EVERY SINGLE page, and the extra space taken on each page would add up unless you use a single page with the nav bar as a frame. What's so bad about frames if there's only two of them?

You see, though, if you create each of those pages with the Layout already in place, it takes very little work. Just a matter of copying over already determined code.

Frames work well, in theory. However, they often are quite disrupting to the design and are an eye-sore. That's not to say they can't be well done, no sir, but more often then not, they're not so good to look at.

With the Navigation on a side, or where ever it is decided to be, it can easily look in place with the rest of the layout. Also, it's true, if your site does become large enough, you may have a lot of room on your hands. However, that's where a good layout comes into play. If you're ready for that, it's no hassle. It just takes some fancy Image mapping.

You could use a single Javascript source file for a nav bar and use it on every page for the space saving, plus you could use dynamic image changing with Javascript. If you need anything Javascript-wise, I'm your man.

Anyways, Pagebuilder sucks for 2 things-you cant overlap stuff and it slows your computer like there's no tomorrow. Otherwise, it's GREAT for non-HTML people! Oh, and a bar on the left is better than what you were doing....
Plus, you should put in more sections in your site. The big deal 'bout your site is the fan stuff and that's it!

"Grrr, we have to add in jons! So frustrating!"

What's the matter? My site's cool! It's probably the best Geocities Mario site out there! I put in a new format on some parts. Check out the site-it might help you guys!

Hang on, I just made a nav bar and took off the music. It's at testing.htm. Tell me what you think, and I'll use it. Actually, nevermind--I'll just use it anyway, since I got your approval.

I still suggest using it as a frame, so long as it's less than a page's length and you don't have to scroll that frame to see all of it. Why? Because with your current one, you have to scroll down to use some of it.

Indeed. The current Navigation bar also seems a bit out of place, in my opinion. It's partially the Teal color, I think. It clashes indefinitely with your background.

However, the color isn't all of it. A solid design is needed, I believe. Right now, it's just a little bar, out of nowhere. What you need is to base the whole layout on that bar. Such as, making it go to the bottom of the page.

As things currently stand, that last suggestion would make things look worse. Mainly because it's a long way down. You don't necessarily need to make the bar itself go all of the way down, but it may be better to not have the "News/Updates" go under it if, if you know what I mean.

Scrolling down to get to some of the sections isn't a bad thing, per say, but if you're going to do that, it's best to have an organized look. Another suggestion, may be to not keep every single update right on the main page. Make a limit, and then have the newer ones push the elder ones off of the page. You can easily create another section to keep track of past updates. In this way, it will make your design seem neater, and will allow your layout some room for your navigation bar, and such.

You're on the right track, but you just need to iron a few things out. ;)

Also, please note, when I say "you" and so on, I'm addressing the whole staff, and not a single person.

I don't like the teal either. I was trying to find a color that would look best. I don't know the coding for different colors, and the choice they gave me weren't very good.

I'll try to get up a page entitled "updates archive" or something to that effect. We should probably leave it in intervals of 10 or 15 (right now it's 12), and then separate each section of the archive by month.

I'm trying to fix the nav bar--I realize it suddenly just stops, when I'd like it to go down to the whole page, no matter how long it gets. As I said, I'm new to HTML, so please bear with me.

Hey, sweet! It's looking good!
Oh, and I changed the teal color to a better color. I kinda like the look of mine better than yours, no offense. Can you edit yours to look like mine--in the better format so it goes down the rest of the page? I can do it for you, if you'd like.

Renders are official artwork from Nintendo, like what they put all thru-out Player's Guides, NP, and instruction manuals.
As for affiliates, see page 10 of this topic.

Now as for your friend, it'd probably best if we got to know him first in the Fungi Forums here. I personally don't mind, if you think he's a good recommendation.

By the way, what you meant by: stretching the navigation bar to the bottom of the page, did you mean to stretch the box by filling it up with empty space?  Or did you mean to keep the text from going to the left after the table ends?  Either way it'll be easy to change.

Jon, I think it'd look better if you edited it a bit. When the background color of your ad changes from Red to Black, you can still see the left overs of the Red. It'd look a little nicer if you covered the whole ad in black after the transition. Otherwise it looks a bit rushed, and sloppy.

Other than that, it's nice for a simple little ad.

 No.

"Oh, and I saw earlier that you wante to use a Flash Navigation thingy-dont, they might be good looking for your site, but frames is better."

Flash's main problem is its loading time. While I'm unsure if you were addressing me, as I never said anything about flash, I'm much more on the side of a Frame-less Navagation bar. Their current one looked nice.

"Hey, does anyone have and ROMs? I need some. But they have to be MARIO ONLY! Computer games is what the jon needs ^_^."

Uhm, someone posted a site that had Mario Computer games. Not the Console ones, but like Mario Teaches Typing and such. Let me dig it up.

.......well, ok, I know about the computer games thread. Don't you need permission from the owner to put their ROMs on your site? I know that Flash slows it down and I, too perfer frames.

Here's my opinion about Gamer's Haven logo MY OPINION!!!!! I like it except for one thing........PEACH! I hate Peach! Ever since Mario Kart 64, I've hated her and DK!

They always were the hardest(and most cheatingest characters in the game)! I hated Peach for saying "Thank You" after passing me up (dang her) and i hate DK for being a monkey in a kart.

I know that that doesn't deal with Gamer's Haven, but whenever I see Peach, grrrrr!

".......well, ok, I know about the computer games thread. Don't you need permission from the owner to put their ROMs on your site? I know that Flash slows it down and I, too perfer frames."

ROMS are illegal in any scenario. It matters not. The old saying was "As long as you delete them after 24 hours," and another was "You can keep them only if you have the original cart." However, that's not true.

They're illegal no matter what. However, it's a rarely enforced law, and many pay no mind to it.

I just used the 4 most popular/famous Mario characters (in and out of the Mario universe). Besides, it needs a girl in it--makes it more diverse (besides, I'm a blonde-haired, blue-eyed chick whom has been given the title "princess", too. :P

And I stuck with Mario characters. She's the most popular.  Besides, she's my second favorite Nintendo character (first being Yoshi). How could I leave her out? ;P

Ok...  That helps.  BTW, Yoshi6 and I we're talking about moving the site to BraveNet.  He said "It's a far better web-page hoster and can store 100MB for -FREE!-".  Also, another thing I think I should ask you guys about.  I think I should take all the responsibility of working on the site and updating it.  I'm not saying that you guys can't edit things here and there, but working on one thing really hard and then coming back to see it changed is really frustrating!  I think I should get the site most of the way set up (with the ideas from ALL of us) before anybody comes in and changes something.  You know, you give me some ideas or some suggestions if you don't like the way the site is going and I change it.  Then when everybody's happy we open the site and everyone's allowed to edit within reason.  All big jobs go to me.

Umm...All right, I guess... I figured it'd go faster if we all helped, but... never mind. Once we get all the stuff ready and up, why don't we divide some of the sections up--we can each have a specific section(s) that mostly one of us will work on. Just throwing out ideas.

I do think, though, that we should all take charge of our own things, such as me uploading my story and putting up my comics, etc, and everybody else the same with their stuff.

Currently, producing a respectable web page is the number one priority, my friend. When such is completed, I would assume progress on the said game will commence.

I may not be part of the site, but I'm still interested in the game. But, offering support to the site's construction is all we can do at this time.

When the site is finished, which I would assume to be reasonably soon, we can start talks of the game, again. However, processing both tasks simultaneously may prove to be an unwise move, where both tasks may be done half-heartedly, in an attempt to finish soon.

And so I believe it best to wait, however, my words carry very little authority, and so can easily hold false information. To get a concrete answer, one must wait for Mario Master to respond.

"My nickname at school (around my friends) is Clown.....but I think I'm sort of like you."
--No. I'm not a clown. I can act silly and be funny sometimes, but I'm generally pretty quiet unless I feel comfortable. And even then I'm still more reserved. (That's what introverted means--more reserved, quiet, shy, to yourself, etc.) Okay, I'm an experimenter (DIAT--Dominant Introverted Abstact Thinker.)

You may be an artist (DIAF) or a dreamer (SIAF). But for some reason you stike me to be a prober (DICF). I'll explain all this junk when I get my Mario Personality test up. ;)
Oh and I asked you 'cuz this stuff is fascinating to me how it all fits together. (I've discovered an interesting pattern...)

Anyways, what will your Mario personality test thing be like?

Oh, and another thing-you said that you discovered an interesting pattern......?

And I guess the JPG thing doesn't work after all-unless it works with MY Paint Shop Pro. What brand of a computer do u have? I might know how to get you another free trial...

"Anyways, what will your Mario personality test thing be like?"
--You'll see. ;)

"Oh, and another thing-you said that you discovered an interesting pattern......?"
--You'll see that also. The pattern is which personalities clash most w/ each other and which ones get along best w/ each other. It's not obvious, but I've been researching this for a while and discovered the pattern.

I have a Dell. Do *YOU* have Paint Shop Pro? It's different from the normal Paint program. Normal Paint won't let you convert images. If you do have PS Pro, I might be able to help you.

I saw that on Gamers Haven-the JPG button and my link. Cool.

Anyways, maybe if you go to dell.com, search around for their downloads/updates and you might be able to get another demo.
Guess what, even though I only have the trial version of it, I still have it on my pc! It has just about everything the original has! I can draw on it with all the tools, I can turn images in to any format....I just don't like it. I know I'm crazy, but that's because I have another program I'm drawing on.....Flash 5. You see, my main concern is not just making one picture, I need to make multiple images so I can make a Flash movie....the program's too confusing though! Waaaa!

Hey, how do you draw? With the mouse? I do and my mouse is screwed up! I'm waiting for Windows to come out with the latest drawing tablet.

Oh, and I have a DELL too.

I generally don't draw freehand on the comp. I use the little toolbars on the sides, such as making circles, boxes, curvy lines, text etc. I've used Paint so much that I know how to use everything...practically. I freehand stuff when I'm editing or modifying, and then I zoom in.

Oh, and have you checked your email? I sent you something. :)

I draw freehand because that's how I am. The Flash program smoothes out the lines automatically for me^_^.

"Are you talking to me about the email?"
--Yes.

I can't draw freehandedly on the comp--it insults my artistic talent. But I draw all the time on paper. I wish I had a scanner so I could show off some of my artwork. I have a whole binder full of Nintendo drawings.

If this tells you anything about my art skills, I made the cover of my school's art calendar this year (and last year I got *in* it.--all my years of going to that school) and every one of my artworks I've submitted to the  *state* fair in *California* (I used to live there) has won first place. ^_^

Anyways, the email didnt come yet-what is it of?

I, too, have a billion pictures. I even make pictures that are 4 feet tall and 4 feet wide-sort of like posters. I love to draw hige pictures on paper!!! My favorite one is of Mario hovering or something like that with an awesome background!!! I cant even see my walls-there's so many posters^_^. I'm bragging too.

Someday, I want to work for someone like Pixar or Disney. I want to make animations/cartoons when I'm older.

Hey! I got the button and it looks GREAT!!! How'd you do that????? I'm gonna put it up as the site button for sure!!!!
There was only one thing, though. I think it would be best if you can bold the letters. It might be a little hard to see the letters from all other sites out there with busy scenery, you know. But I love it ^_^.

I'm feeling sort of depressed too.....I hardly know how to do it!!!! Flash is very hard to learn, but somday, I'll master it and that's probably when Mariotendo will be www.mariotendo.com instead of geocities.com/mariotendo. (Geocities allows you to use MP3s and Flash when it's www.your-domain.com.
So, that's what I want to do....but it takes time.....and I only have 28 days left before it ends! Soon I'll be feeling like Sapphira and Paint Shop Pro....Waaaaa!

Oh, did you know that with your Kong Wars comic, it's hard to see the letters without pusing that arrow button that makes it bigger. You should probably make the text bigger or tell people to makeit bigger.

Sorry the text isn't bigger, but it's hard fitting a whole bunch of words into one frame. The words appear fine to me on my comp at 800x600 pixels. Oh well. Anyway, I'm glad you like it. :)

As for the links... Do what Black Mage said on the previous page. What I did was click on the link, highlight the URL and copy-paste it back in, then click enter. It should work then.

Jon, Flash 5 comes with its own turtorial. I'm not exactly sure if I remember it's exact location, but I'm quite sure that if you go to the "Help" bar at the top, it'd be in there.

I went through it once, and a couple of sections twice, before, and that gave me a basic understanding of how it works. If you take the time to go through it, I'm sure you'd have a better understanding of the program itself.

Also, if you need more, I do believe there are tutorials online, which could easily be found with a little searching.

Well that's good to hear. I was quite sure there was a section in the tutorial about that, but I may be mistake.

However, I went out and found this for you:

Lesson II: Section 3

That whole lesson may be of help to you, but I think that particular section may have what information you need.

It's concerning Placing the Button in between frames, to allow the button to move on the the next frame, istead of only displaying your button.

If you can figure that out, putting a button at the start of your movie is just a matter of relocating the frame.

Jon, believe it or not, MOST message boards don't only ask you your name and password. To be honest, this is the only sort I can think of that does that.

Just put in a Fake address. It's not a big deal. I'll even give you one, if you so incline.

123 Fake St.
Beverly Hills, CA 90210

That's the one I tend to favor.

Hey, Mario Master! I had no idea how frustrated you were with the site! You *can* let us lighten your load, you know. If you're the only one answering the mailbag, no wonder you feel that way!  Why don't we make an email account specifically for Gamers' Haven that all the staffers can have access to. That'd be best for the mailbag, so we can all take a chunk of it instead of one person being overwhelmed.

On another note, for all the stuff we're planning on doing in the future, we're gonna run out of space FAST. Why don't we get a new host?--classicgaming.com!

I've tried Classicgaming, but they never replied to my request....I guess I'm going to have to complete Mariotendo, as well as learn HTML-make everything good-looking, fix all the problems, and get some more staff who knows Flash+HTML....Mariotendo's so hard to work with!!! I have som much to do, and I dont feel like fixing it because Im bored of fixing stuff....
Oh, Im going to get Frontpage and use THAT until I learn HTML, heh heh...

Anyways, good luck with trying to get with Classicgaming....

As my first post in this topic, I would like to say "Baronfadiblenokip", but I can't bring myself to do that. So.. I'm going to say "good job on the site. I like it's current set-up."

Oh, and if you send a website to Classic Gaming, make sure you have something that makes it different from TMK, or any of the other sites. I've already been turned down once. I guess "Luigi Mania" was too much like TMK.

And for all those who want it, heres a button for linking to my website.

It might also be wise to give the actuall address! www.dairyking.tk It would have been disasterous had nobody got the link!

That doesn't work. It SAYS GIF format for starters, but it makes itself text format as soon as it's on your hard drive.

Besides, if you go and press the 'edit' button on DK's post, you'll see that he linked a txt button, not a GIF-so it's Text format the whole time!

That's okay; I understand. I've been the same way about CH 15 of my story. XD

Okay, I did actually start it, but what I've done so far was already done before I even put up CH 14, back in late May. @_@ (Which is only a paragraph and 2 1/2 sentences. XD )

So yeah, I'm not gonna be too demanding. XD  Just whenever you have time is fine.

Uhh... a lot... XD
I haven't actually divided the chapters up yet, except for the ones I've already posted, so I don't know exactly.
It's a four part story, each being around the same length... Part 1 was 12 chapters long... So I'm gonna say somewhere around 48 chapters.  Told ya it was a lot. XD

Hey, have you been reading it, by any chance, Mario Master?

48 Chapters-each chapter 2-3 pgs long on these forums each.

Over 50 chapters in my story that I havent gotten a chance to post-8-15 pgs long on these forums each.

If I were you Sapphira, I wouldn't show off like you always are nowadays.

I'm not showing off. And I certainly hope I don't sound like I snob, because, really, I'm not. Sometimes I like to brag in a teasing way, but I guess you could blame that on my weird sense of humor. XD

Oh, and my story's NOTHING in length compared to my other one... I mean NOTHING... It makes The Prophecy seem like a short story. ;P

And jon, are you ever even GOING to post your story?

I'm not going to post it yet. Not until all the sites Im working on are complete.

Anyways, I'd rather make my story into a book and sell it. Heh heh, just kidding.

Plus, I dont think I want to even continue with finishing up my story.

I only wrote it when I was in school and was really bored.

I really want to make Flash cartoons of Nintendo characters and put them on Mariotendo(so I can get it popular).

Besides, even though Im a good writer, I dont like writing(gives me writers cramp) and I'd rather make movies anyways. That's me.

That would be neat.  Yeah, Sapphira, I've been reading your story.  I've been thinking of starting one of my own where Mario gets thrown backwards in time and accidently kills himself.  Then Luigi, who had a twin's link between him and Mario, is the only one who knows he existed.  However, without Mario, Bowser has taken over the Mushroom Kingdom and has enslaved or killed most of the people in the mushroom kingdom.  But without Mario, Luigi's past begins to change as well.  Will he vanish from time like his brother?  Or will he be able to save his brother and the entire Mushroom Kingdom?  Oops, sorry.  Got lost in the moment.  I'm not sure what I'm gonna call it yet, but I'm thinking.

Arrrrrrgh, so many acronyms! I didn't understand any of that!

And the story's revisions are now 0.1% complete! I copy-pasted it into Word and fixed a single typo in CH 2. Yay!

And as for me, since I have no real artistic talent, and my writing style is hampered too much in my mind by my overly-logical mind (less sense of fictional ... things - and thus less mystique) - so I'll strive to be the next Carl Fredrick Gauss. (sic?)

I'll let you do a bit of research as to what he did.
