Title: SMB Programming error

I have heard that one of the programmers made an error while coding Super Mario Bros. and Nintendo had to replace most of the level graphics becouse of this.

Could someone tell me more about this (or just what error it was he made, couse it sounds wierd) couse it intrests me as a programmer.
