Title: The Blackout
Post by: TEM on August 14, 2003, 09:36:49 PM
I just got my electricity back on and this topic is for those afflicted by the blackout of 2003. Tell what area of the country you where caught in the dark in and when the lights came back on.

Time slowed and Reality bent.
But on and on the Eggman went.

I was in Northwestern Ohio and the electricity went out at about 2:00 PM and didn't come back on until 10:30 PM.

Time slowed and Reality bent.
But on and on the Eggman went.

I was. I live in Upstate New York.

Our power knocked out right about 3pm, Thursday. We didn't get it back until about 2am, this morning.

It was a good eye opener, as I now know just how much electricity plays a role in my life. Yet, I feel I will still take it for granted.

 Aw well.

I wasn't. In fact, I'm only now finding out about it.
That nine months from now, joke. I've heard it somewhere before...

The world would be a much cleaner place if people would eat their own trash.

Coincidence...or not?

Also, I've wondered this for awhile, but where does your sig come from? I've never seen it in a Sonic game and I've basically beaten them all. Did you write it? I like it!

Ditto, LD, ditto.

Oh, and we didn't have a blackout here. I only heard about it last night.  We did, however, have a HUGE blackout this winter 'cuz of a severe ice storm. The power was out for 3 days for us, but others got it pretty bad.  Man, you should've seen all the trees that fell over...

*shudder* 3 days...no electricity...no video games...no TV...no computer....no hot water...no heating...no showers...trapped in dark house....so cold...nothing to do...and with MY FAMILY!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!  Those three days were DEVASTATING!!! It seemed like over a week... Never wanna go thru THAT again! @_@

"It was a good eye opener, as I now know just how much electricity plays a role in my life. Yet, I feel I will still take it for granted.

 And I still do.

Ironically enough, I woke up this morning, well, afternoon, to find that we lost power last night, while I was asleep.

And then, this topic is revived. Crazy.

Hey, who was it who had a dream where they were on the forum and he was talking to CW and you could see what he was writing as he was typing.  And CW said, "Are you scared?  You should be."    And then the lights started flickering funny colors and things were moving so the guy was trying to get out of the house, and a voice sounding like Andross' from SF64 sounded and said, "You can't escape! AHAHAHAHAA!  I remember someone having a dream like that, who was it?

No, TEM, I'm not Blackmarge's impostor. I said before that I actually WAS another person in forums- just the other side of my personality. I don't take someone else's name I am not familiar with and post crap in their name.
