Title: What wouuld be a good new plot for a flagship Mario game

By flagship I mean the debut game of the system.

I have no idea (or am too lazy to think about it).

The flagship game is important though, because it kind of sets the pace for other games to follow.  Examples: SMW was an awesome game, and the SNES went on to be one of the best systems of all time.  Mario 64 seemed a bit rough and unfinished, and the N64 has had it's share of sub-par and cookie cutter games.
