The Street Fighter games. I like SSBM but I don't really consider it a fighter.

I like Super Smash Bros. Melee. But like Screech, I DON'T consider it a true fighter. Ussally, fighting games have Player 1 VS Player 2, not 4 plaers against each other. It's more of a Party/Fighting hybird.

It IS a true fighter. Just because it's 4-player doesn't mean it isn't a true fighter.

If it wasn't a fighting game, then it wouldn't be rated T for mild violence and comic mischief. Soul Calibur is rated T for mild violence also. Just because SSBM is four player compatible doesn't determine whether it's a fighting game or not. Plus, if it ISN'T a fighting game, what is it, an adventure game? it IS a fighting game whether Nintendo characters are in it, whether it is four player, or not. Actually, in Lonic's words, I would prefer "fighting/party" games rather than JUST fighting.
Bottom line is, is that SSBM is a fighting game and SSBM is also 1-10 on my favorites list.

No, it isn't. You can either keep arguing with me, or face it. It's only part fighter. Really, do you know a fighter game that has 4 players against each other? Not even Dragonball Z: Budokai has that! So, yeah. I think Lonic may actually have a point on this one, guys. It may be fun, but it's not a traditional fighter. I guess the multiplayer mode is so fun, people tend to think of it as a party/fighting game rather than just a fighting game.

The all-time best, true 1-on-1 fighter is Street Fighter 2 Turbo for the SNES system.
Time slowed and Reality bent. But on and on the Eggman went.
