I will give a hint for you to guess my password. I will add a hint everyday or so depending on the number and accuracy of guesses. Everybody gets no more than one guess per hint. The person who guesses correct first then posts a hint to their password. [No actual passwords should be used in this game.]
Hint 1: 8 characters.
-
Clue 1 Guess: Luigison
-
Good guess, but no. I will add a new hint tomorrow.
-
My Guess: ostrich2
I actually used to use that password for some stuff, but now I don't, so never mind.

Red Paratroopa, that was funny. From my wording, it could have been taken that way, but that's not how I ment it.

Well, there goes guess #2, thanks Steve. :P

My guess is !@#$%^&*

Hint 1: 8 characters.
Hint 2: 5 of the 8 characters are letters.

"Never eat at a restaurant that enforces the 5-second rule."- Me
-
Red Paratroopa guessed right with "Mario128".
Now it's Red Paratroopa's turn to give hints to a password.
-
Hooray! I was debating between Mario128 and Luigi128. Okay, here goes.
Hint 1: 8 Characters (and it's not Mario128)

Brute force password hacks are super easy when you know something simple about the password like that. This shows why it is so important that passwords be random characters and not have any connection to anything.

Guess: Miyamoto
I think that's how you spell it...
Edit: Hehe, posted at the same time.

Oh, gee. This is tough. It would have been fine if "Miyamoto" was incorrect. But, hmmm. Maybe you two could play Rock, Paper, Scissors.
"Never eat at a restaurant that enforces the 5-second rule."- Me
-
Well, yes, ¥tterbiJúm and I did post during the same minute, but we didn't post at precisely the same time. I think that our posts were separated by at least a few seconds because after I posted and reloaded the page to see how it appeared, ¥tterbiJúm's post did not show up. So, if you consider timing of greater accuracy than the minutes-but-not-seconds markings on our posts, then I did answer first.
However, if you don't really like that sound of that, then it'd be fine with me to pick a number between 1 and 10 (or something). I suppose doing that would be kind of appropriate for this topic, anyway.
"Greetings from Belgium, the only country in Europe where the leading source of natural gas is the local dairy farm."
-
Red Paratroopa, we need you to decide.
(:please don't let this game die:)
I suggest giving it to Watoad since he technically replied first. (even if it was less than a minute before the next reply) The second reply was edited any way. I don't think anyone cheated, but we should make a rule that posts with guesses can't be edited. That way there won't be any misunderstanding.
If you want maybe they could email you a rock, paper, or scissor.
They should practice first though. RPS is a very high level strategy game. !)
Practice here:

Good Luck!
EDIT: "thes" corrected to "this". Same finger, different hand.
EDIT: Edit my first edit to change "correct" to "corrected". My attempt to document my edits is quickly becoming too much of a hassle. I had to change 3 things in the previous sentence. Man, I should just give up and type like uvg.

Give it to Watoad. I like guessing. :)
Bozone, n.:
The layer of gas surrounding a person which prevents good ideas from penetrating.
-
Okay, I have one. It doesn't seem to make sense to begin anywhere other than the number of characters in the password, so that's where I'll start.
Hint #1: There are 14 characters, each of which is either a letter or a space.
Luigison didn't say that spaces aren't allowed, so I went ahead and used one/some. More hints shall come later, of course—unless some crazy person can guess it already.
"Greetings from Belgium, the only country in Europe where the leading source of natural gas is the local dairy farm."
-
Wow Watoad, that's pretty long, but whatever.
Guess: Princess Peach
"Oh, and Dexter, don''t let those nasty Grab-Ons getcha!"
"They are called Hang-Ons mother! The ruthless Hang-On Empire!"
-
SuperMario_128
-
You're right, ¥tterbiJúm; it is on the longer side, and that's why I basically gave two hints for Hint #1. Also, I'll give another hint in this post, which comes not long after my previous post. Oh, and I like your guess—but I'm afraid that it isn't right.
Luigison, my password has only letters and spaces, so "_128" (punctuation and numbers) couldn't be in it.
Hint #2: It is part of a neat coincidence shared by The Kingdom of Loathing and the Fungi Forums.
"Greetings from Belgium, the only country in Europe where the leading source of natural gas is the local dairy farm."

Oh man, that's a tough one Watoad. What do FF and KoL have in common? "Lizard Dude"? No, that only has 11. Hmm...

-
Understood, Luigison. My favorite joke of yours in this thread, though, was when you said, "Man, I should just give up and type like uvg."
E-Z Cook Oven™ couldn't work because neither - nor ™ is a letter or a space (which means that Crazy Newbies™ couldn't work, either). I'm sorry if this one is too difficult, but I've seen some good guesses. I wouldn't be surprised if someone gets it after the next hint, and that really isn't too bad, I think—only three hints, just one more than the previous passwords required. How hard would a password have to be to necessitate five hints, then? Pretty darn tough, it seems, which makes me think that we'll not be seeing five hints any time soon . . . and I wouldn't say that five hints is particularly a lot.
Anyway, here are the three hints you now have:
Hint #1: There are 14 characters, each of which is either a letter or a space.
Hint #2: It is part of a neat coincidence shared by The Kingdom of Loathing and the Fungi Forums.
Hint #3: Each word (or string of letters separated by spaces) has the same number of letters.
"Greetings from Belgium, the only country in Europe where the leading source of natural gas is the local dairy farm."

Luigison stipulated that "everybody gets no more than one guess per hint," but since your first guess is correct, you may have it.

<sarcasm>Watoad quoted me twice. <strong sarcasm>Wow!</strong sarcasm></sarcasm>
Since my/the rule was one guess per hint, and Markio has given I hint yet does that mean I can give as many guesses as I want before he give the first hint?

Anyways, here's mine.
HINT I: 13 characters. 9 letters, 3 numbers, and an at sign -- "@"
~I.S.~
-
I was gonna say SoyaMilk. Anyway your password seems like an email address, but I am not going to guess yet.
-
HINT II: Not an Email address, but somethign written in p53ud0-1337.
~I.S.~
-
OMG! LEET? I give up already.

M@r1oBr0th3rs

HINT III: It is a character in a Mario game.
Psuedo 1337 basics:
@ = A (Can also be represented by 4)
3 = E
1 = I
0 = O
5 = S
Those are the only ones you might need here.

-
I can't tell if that's a joke or a really bad guess.
"Good News: Ten golfers are struck by lightning every year."- George Carlin
-
It isn't 13 characters, nor does it have 13 characters, any number, no @, isn't a Mario character, nor written in Psuedo-1337. Well then.
HINT IV: It is a character from a Mario game on the Super Nintendo. There are two "M"s and two "1"s, but no other characters are repeated.
~I.S.~
-
M@11ow Nimbus
"Good News: Ten golfers are struck by lightning every year."- George Carlin
-
It was a joke.
An apple a day keeps the doctor away, especially if you have good aim!
-
It's supposed to have three numbers, paratroopa. And thanks for the idea.
M@11ow Nimbu5
-
New hint, new guess: M@110w Nimbus
An apple a day keeps the doctor away, especially if you have good aim!
-
GAH! We are all idiots! The character can't be Mallow Nimbus, because it needs 13 characters with NO SPACES! It needs nine letters!
hmmm...
-
Good realisation.
HINT V: This character is in my favorite level/area of ANY Mario game. (This one MIGHT really help, or not help at all. Who knows?) Also, the "1"s do not represent the letter "L" in this case, rather "I".
~I.S.~
-
M@rch1ngM1ld3
-
That is exactly correct, my favorite level being of course 4-4 of YI.
~I.S.~
-
Okay, time for a new password!
First hint: The password is an entry in the Mariopedia.
-
No guesses? Well, it's been one day, so I'll post another hint anyway...
The password begins and ends with the same letter.
-
Amanita
-
Bob-omb
“I’m a stupid fatty and I love to play with my Easy Bake oven.â€
-
Hint 3: The Mariopedia lists the entry as appearing in exactly 2 games.
-
After about 20 minutes of searching... (And that still might not be it)
Max Mushroom
~I.S.~
-
My guess is: Diamond.
("o0o") My metroid thinks you are stupid. People who
....v...v disagree with metroids often get sucked dry.<•>_<•>
-
Technically, "Diamond" would not work, because it is listed as appearing in THREE games: VBWL, WW (NES) and WW (SNES). "Max Mushroom" was a good guess, but not correct.
Hint 4: The entry is classified as one or more of the following:
Enemy
Friend
Character
Hero
Selectable Character
and nothing else.
-
Hacking Sparks Need for Complex Passwords
-
Kamek
-
Again, Kamek is listed as appearing in THREE games: SMW2, TA (GB) and TA (SNES). I consider games of the same title on differnet systems to be different games!
Hint 5: At two points in the password, a letter appears twice in a row.
I am almost positive that the password is uniquely determined by now. All you have to do is find it. But I'll keep giving hints if no one gets it...
