It took Nokia this long to sell 1 million N-Gage units! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Nintendo DS will (hopefully) sell one million units in one week!

And the keyword there is "shipped" as opposed to sold.  Most of them are probably still sitting on store shelves.

The second sentence says "sold"?

“I’m a stupid fatty and I love to play with my Easy Bake oven.”

Still, it took Nokia one full year to sell one million N-Gage systems... That is pathetic.

They can be "sold" to the stores, "but" not necessarily "bought" by "consumers".

Also, they never said it sold them yet. It could mean if they ever do sell the million sitting on the shelf,it would be impressive, even though it wouldn't.

Umm actually it says "sale."  However, that might be clever marketing speak.  Notice how the second sentence isn't actually dependent on the first sentence; they might have just put it there to make you assume that.  Yes, 1 million in sales is a milestone, but that doesn't mean they've reached it yet.  They only actually said they've shipped 1 million.  In any case, neither milestone brings them to the forefront of anything.  Especially when it took TWO models to even get where they are.

From what I read, Nokia has shipped over one million N-Gage units to retailers, and has sold one million of them since the original launch in 2003... Pathetic.

... which is how they want you to read it even if it's not true.  That's what marketers are paid for.  Of course, you can only make bad news sound so good, so even if they really have sold 1 million, it's fairly inconsequential.

And you posted this in the wrong forum to start with.

So MegaByte, if you're saying that Nokia lied about their N-Gage sales, then any other game company can lie about their sales as well...

That's basically saying Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony can lie about their game sales and fool the public into believing them.
