Title: Toad in Mario Power Tennis?

I have been all over the internet trying to figure this out. I am pretty sure that Toad is in Mario Power Tennis, but I do not know how to get him! I have heard many ways to unlock him but none have been proven to work. Does anyone know how you truely unlock Toad in Mario Power Tennis?

I'm pretty sure anyone who said you could get toad in Mario Power Tennis is lying.
