Two things:
Is it really possible to get 300000 points in SMBD and if so does anyone have tips to do so?

If you are speaking of SMBDX, then I can give you some help:

1. Use Star levels if you can.
2. Get up to 3-2. Jump on the Koopa, kick it's shell, follow it off the screen and jump when you've got about 31,000 points off it.

It's hard, but definitely worth it. I'm on 3-1 in Super Players mode!
