Title: GameBoy "Colour"
Post by: BP on April 26, 2005, 06:42:46 PM
In England, color spelled colour with a "u." In the logo for GameBoy Color, the letters in "color" are all different colors, right? What color's the "u?"

They spell lots of things with an extra u there. Humour, Rumour, etc...

I don't think they had changed the name to "Gameboy Colour" there, though. If they did, I don't know what the color of the u was.

Honour...
but then that would just cause people to not buy the GBC in England because people are really judging. They'd think "Haha, Nintendo's stupid, they can't spell colour..."

The "u" is turquoise.

I'm 98% sure that there's no "u" at all.

It's so true!! The PAL version of the GameBoy Color definitely is spelled the same way as the U.S. version, whether the people of the U.K. liked it or not!

Evidence? Well, I spell the term 'colour' British style, yet I spelled 'GameBoy Color' the way the U.S. know it...

I wonder what does this have to do with Mario himself...

Nintendo.co.uk has it listed as Game Boy Color.

"Portable Power
Game Boy Color is part of the range of portable powerhouses that revolutionised the way the world plays games. Over thirteen years, Game Boy has become the planet's most loved console - over 100 million units sold makes it the world's best-selling system by miles. Game Boy Color brings a ravishing rainbow of over 32,000 possible colours to the bright 44 x 39mm screen, along with twice the processing power of its monochrome sibling for unrivalled realism on the move."

Fairly amusing.

I got an email from someone who isn't in the forums, and they said there was no U. I'd take it seriously, because the word "tonnes" was there (tons).
There you go, case closed! ^_^
