A few weeks ago a girl in Earth science said she only used here PS2 to watch DVDs.  That may haved formed a negative stereotype of female "gamers", but later a guy asked if Playstation had any Mario games.  Maybe casual gamers are generally ignorant.

On the otherhand, Latias Dita and Sapph are very knowledgable gamers.  They also seem like very good people to know.  Too bad Sapph couldn't make E3 this year.

One of my brothers has a girlfriend (their getting married June 18th) that is very into games like Dark Cloud 2.

Edit: "Latias Dita" is female.  "Lizard Dude" is male.  I guess I will have to stop using LD to reference either of them.  I thought it was funny when Lizard Dude refered to Latias Dita as LD, but it is obvious that neither are Learning Disabled.  I, on the other hand ...

My mom played Animal Crossing with my brother and me back in the day, and that game has Mario references. ;P

That reminds me of the time when we got mom to play Super Mario 64. She got Mario to crawl and started laughing hysterically.

Ha... I love playing Double Dash with my brother while my parents watch.  They always laugh when we crash and our characters scream and stuff.  When you start to take things so seriously it's sometimes hard to notice the things you once thought funny.

When my Mom tried SM64, she took one look at a goomba, screamed, ran in a random direction, then finally paused.

Later on she informed me that she was a Pong expert.

Maybe Latias Dita could be called LSD and Lizard Dude could be called LZD.  Or something else.  Or just their full names.

.....LSD?

Let's just call Lizard Dude LD and Latias Dita "Dita".

I say we just call Lizard Dude, Bob.  Or we could add even more to the confusion and call him Matt Bama.  Just call me Dirt Gently.

If we called Lizard Dude that, he wouldn't exist.  I think the names "Billy" and "Hubert" are funnier than Bob.  Or just plain "Bert".  Billy Gonzo, Hubert Dortins, and Bert Pankley.  Yeah...

Call me Huburt P. Humperdink.

Huburt P. Humperdink? *laughs until he can't breath... and then passes out.  Immaturity level reaches new heights*

Lizard D. sounds okay too.  Or L. Dude, but that kind of sounds like Spanish as in El Dude (Spanish for... the Dude!).  Or just plain Dude and Dita could work.  I dunno.

...LSD?! 0_o

Really you can just call me Dita, Latias, or my full name, whichever you prefere. After all, Lizard Dude was "LD" before I was.

I usually don't abbreviate the names of people in the forum anyway.

Someone else called him (or he called himself) El Dude before.  I think it fits since I often refer to him at The Dude.

Markio, you remembered, "Bob does not exist"?

I don't think anybody ever confuses Chupperson Weird with anybody else so I'll start calling him M&M so he doesn't feel left out.

I'm a female Mario fan. I grew up with Nintendo, no really, I was born in 82'. My first system was the NES, and blah blah..well anyways.

As a female fan, I'm glad to see that Nintendo has done alot more towards the respectability of their female gamers, than other gaming companies have. Like you know, they don't act like half-naked babes, and uhm, beating up hookers is all that.

I agree heartily with you-- But the feminine aspects of both companies aren't perfect. Nintendo has been doing a good job of making their female characters more active, and less weak. But unsurprisingly, we still have to rescue Peach from the tyranny of multiple foes, becuase she's the key to power. Of course, there's Bowser's "affection" for her, but originally, it was just to gain power over the Mushroom Kingdom.

As for those other foul-mouthed, dirty-minded game making companies... *narrows eyes*

My mom plays Warioware and SM64DS minigames, does that count?

How about we call Lizard Dude Edmund? Or we can call Latias Dita "New LD" since it would sort've make sense because Lizard Dude is the original LD.

[darnit] I confuse myself.

Still debating how to shorten our names?

Well Peach will probably always be like that, you know? Nintendo still does a better job at representing females than other companies, that's for sure.

I think we should call you "Ladita" or "La-dee-dah" XD  Lat or Dita could work. :P Yeah, I think I'll call you "Lat."

Peach is proving she's not helpless. She was a heroine in SMB2--her second game, she aided Mario in SMB3, she fought alongside Mario and the others in SMRPG, she's a fighter in SSBM (although that's considered "non-canon", or something, but still), and she's put herself in danger to aid Mario in PM and PMTTYD. She may be "girly," but I think that's to be expected of her, since she's a princess and it seems to be the culture of the MK for her to be that way. That doesn't mean she's a not tough cookie. If you look at the games she's in, she's actually been quite stubborn, strong-willed, independent, and devious, aside from her sweet nature. ;)

Oh, and welcome, Violet. It's always cool to have girl gamers here, especially older ones. ;)

Sapphira really likes to assign abreviated names to people, it seems. Why, just the other day, she wanted to call be "Suf." >_<

I say, if you want to shorten my name to three letters, call me Ian.

La-dee-dah? As Sailor Mercury once said "Well La-dee-dah, aren't you brilliant?" (Only kidding XD). I'm just surprised this is still going on. Or should I be? I mean both me and Lizard Dude have L and D and the words are the same length (six for L, four for D).

I agree with you, Sapphira. I was just saying that she'll always get kidnapped by someone, but that doesn't mean she's weak. Not by a long shot.

One time a bunch of family members were playing Mario Kart 64, then we got my mom to try and she complained cuz you could only go one speed, and my grandma laughed, so we got her to try and she got stuck too and started yelling.

I wish my mom would play Mario games, or any video game for that matter. Then again I never asked if she wanted to try (she'd probably look at me werid if I did).

So what if Peach is portrayed as not tough and strong? You are all sounding like feminists. (And I don't think I'm getting hypersensitive about feminism this time.) People should stop saying and implying that guys and girls should be more like each other. They are different, and it's just a fact of nature that men are stronger and more aggressive than women. I am not a sexist, and I'm not saying that men are better than women, but they have different roles; that's the way they were made.

"People should stop saying and implying that guys and girls should be more like each other."

Whoever said anything like that? Yeah, they're different, and there's nothing wrong with that. If anything you ARE being hypersensitive to this feminism stuff, perceiving it when there is none.

I have no problem with Peach being kidnapped, but I don't like it when people BELIEVE that BECAUSE she's always kidnapped, it makes her helpless and weak; that's simply not true. She may be physically weaker (I mean, come on, compare her size to Bowser), but she's not weak overall; frankly, she has a strong chraracter, as seen by her bravery and determination while being held captive (and when not).

Anyway, I've gone off-topic enough.

I'm tired of people telling me to take something more seriously and then thinking I'm weird because I try to.  It happened on the chatroom once when I refrained from saying the word "hell".

BTW, what happens to Cackletta at the end of M&L:SS?  Does she die or fall in a pit or something?
