No, ALL the Mario Karts have massively cheating AI. Add random items, which skew more powerful when you're behind, and experience has virtually nothing to do with how you place in a Mario Kart.
For a lesson in good AI and non-random items, check out Diddy Kong Racing. And what did that turn out to be? The best N64 game made.
And for the record:
-cheating AI in the Karts
-the poor sound quality in MvDK. The content was fine, but the sample rate sounded low or something...
-blue coins in SMS. If you wanted all Shines, they were each as important as a single Shine. Ugh.

Yeah, that's due to the cruddy GBA sound hardware. I'm quite sure the sample rate was low.
As for something I hate about Mario... I can't really think of anything.

I'd love to see what Mario and Luigi's parents are like....that's a bit of a mystery...
As far as things that bug me...Well the cutscenes in SMS were...really, really bad. But there was this once scene...ever notice how long Shadow Mario's tounge is when he sticks it out?
And people dont take screenshots of this stuff...for shame.

THough I haven't tried it yet (still have to find the original so I can compleat it) I am VERY worried about Mario And Luigi: Partners in Time...very sceptical about that one. With such lighthearted stories are they even going to handle time traveling the right way? They're encountering their past selves and that could be very dangerous, not to mention the time loop they create (Little Mario grows--goes back in time--meets little Mario--that Little Mario Grows) THOUGH I am very interested to see what we'll find out about their childhood and possibly even their parents! But the Idea of them helping their past selves is a tad creepifying. I'll just have to wait and see.
That's all I can think of for now.

Taking away the main part people play Mario: Classic. (Mario sports, Mario Party, Super Mario Sunshine)

I tell you all. If Mario didn't have all those spin-offs most of us wouldn't even be here.
Nintendo is already making a main game for the DS so Please this it is a dumb thing to say that Nintendo ignoring Classic Games.
These games are attracting more Mario fans everyday. So the new games are good and it adds another Mario game to our collection instead of making one.
