Edited posts are most likely.  They bring up the green 'shroom for the subforum, but not for the topic itself.

Additionally, edits don't bring a post to the front, so if any topic in the board's history is edited, it will turn the subforum's shroom green while remaining wherever it was.

I usually ignore the mushrooms unless it's a poison one. Sometimes I get on and everything's red even though I haven't posted all day. Now I just look at the Today's Active Topics list.

Why do they give electric toothbrushes names like there are different models? They''re not cars!
